Circa £55,000 per annum

We offer flexible working opportunities, which can be discussed further during the interview process.

Love learning. Drive change. Make a real difference.

At Anglian Water, our purpose is simple: to bring environmental and social prosperity to the region we serve. Behind that purpose is a highly skilled operational workforce – and that’s where you come in.

We’re looking for an Operational Learning Partner to play a pivotal role in shaping the capability, competence and future readiness of our operational teams.

This is a senior, influential role where you’ll translate business strategy into high-quality learning solutions, ensuring our people have the skills, confidence and accreditation they need to operate safely, compliantly and brilliantly.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll act as the strategic learning partner for your designated Business Unit, owning the end-to-end design and delivery of training and development solutions. This includes:

  • Leading the Licence to Operate (LTO) strategy and Competent Operator Framework for your business area

  • Designing and delivering high-quality technical and leadership development programmes

  • Managing competency assessments, development centres and professional reviews

  • Working closely with senior leaders, SMEs and external providers to ensure learning is fit for purpose, future-focused and compliant

  • Ensuring training supports our Organisational Delivery Indicators (ODIs), safety outcomes and regulatory obligations

  • Managing learning budgets effectively and delivering value for money

  • Identifying emerging risks and capability gaps, and proactively developing solutions

  • Representing Anglian Water at industry forums and with awarding and accreditation bodies

  • Acting as a role model for innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

This is a visible leadership role where you’ll influence at all levels and help shape how operational learning is delivered across Anglian Water.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be someone who combines operational credibility with learning expertise, and who thrives on building strong relationships.

We’re looking for:

  • Operational experience, ideally within water, utilities or a similar regulated environment

  • Experience in training, learning and development – including competency frameworks

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders

  • Experience working with external training providers and accreditation bodies

  • A solid understanding of regulatory, safety and compliance requirements

  • Project and budget management experience

  • CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) – or the willingness to work towards it

  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement

  • Experience in Leading and Motivating a team

As a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • 26 days annual leave – rising with length of service

  • Flexible working

  • Competitive pension scheme – Anglian Water double-matches your contributions up to 6%

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
