Strengthening compliance and environmental performance across Water operations

Are you passionate about protecting the environment, improving customer outcomes and helping operational teams meet important regulatory requirements? As a Delivery Support Lead, you’ll support our Water operations teams to maintain strong compliance, learn from incidents and improve the way we work. Working closely with operational colleagues, our 24/7 Control Centre and wider Customer and Operational Services teams, you’ll help identify the root causes of issues, develop practical compliance processes and make sure learning is embedded into everyday activity.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead day-to-day compliance activities across Water operations, helping teams meet environmental standards, Environment Agency permits and other key regulatory requirements such as Security and Emergency Measures Direction (SEMD) and customer water supply commitments.

• Create, review and improve clear procedures, standards and work instructions that help operational teams understand what good compliance looks like in practice.

• Coach and support colleagues across operational teams, building confidence and capability so compliance requirements are understood and embedded into everyday ways of working.

• Support compliance assessments, audits and evidence gathering, making sure the right information is available to demonstrate performance and meet regulatory expectations.

• Lead the follow-up from compliance issues, audit findings or regulatory feedback by agreeing practical corrective actions, tracking progress and helping teams prevent repeat issues.

• Work with the Operational Services Control Centre to support audit activity, share learning and improve the way compliance risks are identified, managed and communicated.

What does it take to be a Delivery Support Lead?

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, solving problems and helping teams do the right thing for customers and the environment. You may already have experience in Water operations, a control-room environment, compliance, audit, risk or another operational setting where clear processes and good decision-making are important.

You’ll bring an interest in environmental compliance and regulatory requirements, with the confidence to interpret information, ask the right questions and turn technical detail into clear, practical guidance for others.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. What matters is your ability to work collaboratively, learn quickly and support improvements that make processes safer, clearer and more effective.

We’d love to hear from you if you can:

• Build positive relationships with operational teams, technical specialists and stakeholders across the business.

• Use data, insight and evidence to understand issues, identify root causes and support practical improvements.

• Communicate clearly and confidently, including explaining operational, technical or regulatory information in a way that others can understand and act on.

• Create or improve guidance, procedures and working practices that help teams stay compliant and continuously improve.

• Coach, support or influence others, helping colleagues build confidence and capability in compliance-critical activities.

If you don’t meet every requirement but can bring relevant experience, curiosity and a commitment to doing the right thing, we’d still encourage you to apply. We value different perspectives and transferable skills, and we’ll support you to build your knowledge in the role.

We invest in our people - as a valued employee, you’ll be entitled to:

  • Personal private health care

  • Generous double match pension – contribute 7% and Anglian Water will contribute 14%, giving a total contribution of 21%

  • 24-hour Virtual GP service for you and your household

  • 26 days annual leave – rising with length of service and the ability to buy more

  • Life assurance (up to 8 x salary)

  • Personal accident cover (up to 5 x salary)

  • Excellent family friendly policies, such as 26 weeks full pay for maternity / adoption leave, as well as 4 weeks paid paternity / partner leave. Opportunity for shared parental pay

  • Bonus scheme

  • Flexible benefits and working culture to support your wellbeing and lifestyle.
