People Partner (Change and OD)
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team. We are seeking an experienced, resilient, and proactive People Partner with a strong background in change management and organisational development (OD). The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with senior leaders and People teams to effectively deliver organisational people change across the business, ensuring alignment with our policies and cultural values.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrable strategic experience as a People Partner in a large, fast-paced organisation.
- Hands-on expertise in organisational restructuring and managing change programmes, including overseeing redundancy processes, facilitating consultations, and providing specialist advice throughout all phases of change.
- In-depth understanding of employment legislation, consistently ensuring that all change processes and consultation activities are compliant with legal requirements and best practices, drawing upon practical experience as a People Change SME.
- Strong project management skills, with direct involvement in planning, executing, and reviewing people change programmes to ensure successful and sustainable outcomes.
Key roles and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and support
- Plan, create and implement the change approach that enables the People Partnering network to deliver positive and effective people change.
- Ensure our approach to change is inspiring to our people, acting as a voice and champion of the department on the people change agenda. Keep the customer ‘front and centre,’ making sure we treat customers fairly. Consistently prioritise the customer experience, ensuring fair treatment and maintaining a customer-centric perspective.
- Make sure our change initiatives motivate and engage our team, while representing and advocating for the department’s people-focused goals. Always put customers first and strive to treat them fairly. Regularly focus on delivering an excellent customer experience by upholding fairness and keeping their needs at the heart of our actions.
- Developing toolkits and templates to support our people change approach.
- Collaborate with Learning and Development in identifying, developing, and implementing learning strategies and programmes, including induction, management development, and compliance training etc ready for change.
Change and OD
- Engage with business leaders and the People Partnering network to identify opportunities for change and develop strategies and ensuring change is implemented timely and effectively.
- Plan and co-ordinate cross-company changes working with the People Partners to ensure they deliver a consistent and joined up service.
- Lead and manage complex change initiatives and support the delivery of change. Working with the People Partnering network & key stakeholders to identify project deliverables, support the development of the strategy and rationale for change and the phasing of the implementation.
- Assess the impact of change on the organisation and colleagues during the process ensuring it is legally and commercially robust. Support and advise the People Partnering network and the business to develop a communication strategy for any remodelling exercise as part of the project plan.
- To drive, influence and support the cultural and people aspects of organisational change structure and people processes to improve initiatives, efficiency and effectiveness in people management.
- Responsible for risk mitigation during the change process in relation to people policies and procedures and best practice and any other risk as identified which could compromise the success of change or the business more widely.
- Equip stakeholders with appropriate tools, knowledge, and expertise to effectively manage their people in line with their people plans and in particular change.
- Embrace and embed a culture of continuous improvement, taking ownership of resolving problems as they arise.
Develop and maintain productive stakeholder relationships
- Build a collaborative approach with key stakeholders across the business to develop and execute strategic plans for change & OD. Collaborate in planning and delivering the department strategy.
- Demonstrate credibility and competence to enhance stakeholder confidence of the People Partnering network.
- Act as a consultant to the leadership team and as an ambassador for the People function and custodians of its culture. Influencing the business to follow our lead in living and breathing Admiral’s culture and values.
Provide Insight
- Use people data effectively to make informed business decisions and forecast longer term business needs and trends.
- Provide input and insight to the People Partnering network and the business.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven ability to develop and effectively manage relationships with stakeholders
- Extensive hands-on experience in organisational restructuring and modelling.
- Experience of working within organisations and responsible for change initiatives
- Solid project management experience
- Extensive consultation experience both collective and individual
- Understanding of people management, including coaching and developing others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation.
- Negotiation and influencing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with and challenge legal counsel both in the development of consultation documentation and consultation process
- Flexible approach
- Able to work on own initiative and prioritise workload
- Have an excellent eye for detail and be very organised

- Emotionally intelligent, adapts communication style to the audience to achieve best outcome.

Desirable Skills & Experience
- Chartered CIPD or equivalent (not essential)
This role requires attendance to our Cardiff office once weekly
