Job Description

Purpose

Contribute to the design of better services — applying human-centred research methods, synthesising insight, and creating artefacts that help organisations understand their users and improve the experiences they deliver.

Orientation

Support and lead service design activities at the project level; develop proficiency in the full service design toolkit; build confidence in facilitation and stakeholder engagement; grow your ability to connect research insight to design strategy.

Expectations

Be adventurous. Bring a vision. Make an impact. Rely on empathy. Nurture collaboration. Stay transparent. Be bold and generous in all you do.

Years of Experience

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in service design, UX research, or a related field.

  • Experience conducting qualitative research and synthesising findings.

  • Exposure to service design artefacts including journey maps, blueprints, and personas.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Design, Social Science, or a related field.

Requirements

Personal

  • Bring genuine curiosity about people, organisations, and the systems that connect them.

  • Approach ambiguity with openness and a desire to make sense of complexity.

  • Commit to human-centred methods and the discipline of listening before designing.

Craft

  • Conduct qualitative research activities — interviews, observation, and workshop facilitation.

  • Synthesise research findings into clear insights, themes, and opportunity areas.

  • Create service design artefacts including personas, journey maps, service blueprints, and opportunity frameworks.

  • Support the design and facilitation of co-design and ideation workshops.

  • Develop your visual communication skills — producing clear, compelling artefacts that bring the work to life.

Project

  • Support the delivery of a service design workstream with quality and care.

  • Collaborate actively with product, content, and technology teams.

  • Manage your time and deliverables effectively within project timelines.

Client

  • Engage with client teams in a professional and collaborative way.

  • Build confidence presenting research findings and design thinking to stakeholders.

  • Develop an understanding of client context, user needs, and organisational dynamics.

Skillset

  • Growing service design portfolio demonstrating research, synthesis, and artefact quality.

  • Experience with qualitative research methods and user interviews.

  • Ability to produce clear journey maps, personas, and service blueprints.

  • Developing facilitation skills — comfortable supporting or leading small workshops.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.

Portfolio Requirement

Applications without a design portfolio demonstrating craft quality, process, and relevant experience will not be considered.

What's in it for You

In addition to a competitive salary package, you will benefit from an extensive rewards offering including 25 days' annual leave, private medical insurance, and 3 additional days' leave per year for charitable work of your choice.

Flexibility and mobility are required to deliver this role. There will be a requirement to spend meaningful time on-site with clients, partners, and teams to enable delivery of the first-class experiences we are known for.

Some clients require background checks. You will need to complete a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) to confirm your identity, criminal record, right to work and residency.

Comfortable with hybrid working. Every project is different, but we love our team to be in the studio and in our client's office to work collaboratively.
