Job Description

Role Purpose

IT Auditor is responsible for executing technology and integrated audits including ad hoc management requests in support of strengthening the control environment. This will include Cyber Security, General and Application audits. The audit work must be performed in line with the Internal Audit methodology and professional standards. This position reports to the Executive Head of MPESA Internal Audit.

Key accountabilities

  • Execute audit as per the approved annual audit plan
  • Document impactful audit reports
  • Produce excellent quality audit work
  • Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations using independent judgement concerning areas being reviewed

Key performance indicators

  • Execute the approved annual audit plan with minimal supervision
  • Execute cyber-security, application and general technology audits
  • Embed data analytics testing in audits
  • Ensure that audits are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Internal Audit methodology and IIA standards
  • Document high quality, impactful audit reports
  • Ensure that follow-up of audit actions is conducted as per the Internal Audit methodology
  • Ensure audit quality is maintained through self- and peer-review of audit work and reports
  • Manage relationships with clients across the organisation
  • Keep abreast of technology-related internal audit and technical developments

Minimum requirements include

  • Grade 12
  • A relevant IT Bachelor Degree (e.g. BSC Computer Science, B.Com Informatics/ B.Com Information Systems) or any other relevant qualification
  • Computer Audit qualifications i.e. CISA, CISSP or CISM – at least 1 of the 3 is essential.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Grade 12
  • A relevant IT Bachelor Degree (e.g. BSC Computer Science, B.Com Informatics/ B.Com Information Systems) or any other relevant qualification
  • Computer Audit qualifications i.e. CISA, CISSP or CISM – at least 1 of the 3 is essential.

Technical / professional experience required

  • 3-5 years audit experience, at least 3 years of applications, infrastructure, and general IT audits (Essential)
  • IT certification: e.g CISA or CISM or CISSP (Essential)
  • Minimum of 3 years Cyber Security audits experience (Advantage)
  • Data analytics (Advantage)
  • Financial Services industry experience (Advantage)
  • Relevant postgraduate degree (Advantage)
