Role Purpose/Business Unit:

At Vodacom, we are committed to strengthening and integrating our business vetting capabilities across all customer and partner channels. We are seeking a Senior Manager: Business Vetting to take ultimate accountability for the full business vetting value chain — covering SME, Corporate, Government, Dealers, Partners, and associated credit assessments.

This role is responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving Vodacom’s business vetting processes—not managing the underlying platforms—while leading a team that executes high‑quality financial assessments and supports commercial decision‑making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Hold end‑to‑end ownership of Vodacom’s business vetting function, ensuring robust assessment and decisioning across SME, Corporate, Government, Dealers, Partners, and all intermediary client segments.
  • Lead and mentor the business vetting team, ensuring high‑quality assessments, effective financial ratio analysis, and accurate interpretation of complex financial statements.
  • Drive consistent, data‑driven vetting decisions in alignment with Vodacom’s risk appetite, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain Vodacom’s business vetting policies, frameworks, and operational standards.
  • Represent the vetting function in internal and customer engagements, including presenting business assessments and conducting holistic business overviews.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders - Finance, Sales, Partner with the EHOD: Corporate Credit to shape credit vetting strategy, standards, and governance.
  • Provide strategic input into risk assessment models and contribute to portfolio‑level credit and risk decisions.
  • Champion enhancements in DV360, Case Centre, and related decisioning platforms to ensure seamless, integrated business vetting operations.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent qualification.
  • 8 - 10 years experience in business vetting, preferably in telecoms or financial services.
  • Experience with commercial vetting processes, risk assessment frameworks and related tools.
  • Strong analytical and decision‑making skills.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Deep expertise in financial ratio analysis and business credit evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of corporate financial systems, reporting structures, and governance.
  • Minimum 8 years proven experience in business vetting across SME, Corporate, and Government segments.
  • Strong grounding in credit risk management, vetting best practices, and process governance.
  • Familiarity with Vodacom vetting platforms (DV360, Case Centre) sufficient to guide process usage and integration—not technical platform management.
  • Strong analytical judgement, problem‑solving and decision‑making capability.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and external customers.
  • Good understanding of Vodacom’s operating environment, risk appetite, and commercial complexity.

We make an impact by offering:

  • Enticing incentive programs and competitive benefit packages
  • Retirement funds, risk benefits, and medical aid benefits
  • Cell phone and data benefits, advantages fibre connection discounts, and exclusive staff discounts offered in collaboration with partner companies
