Role Purpose/Business Unit:

  • Lead the development, management, and evolution of the product. Contributes to the definition and executes product strategy and plans, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and ensure the delivery of revenue and profitability. Contributes to the formulation of the product portfolio strategy for products, ownership of the business' complete product portfolio, and drive innovation throughout. Contributes to the design and deliver an end-to-end strategy for the development of the product portfolio to maximise existing customer bases and acquisition of new customers. Manage the product portfolio and pricing strategies.
  • Key responsibility of the candidate will be to manage the Product lifecycle and execute on its GTM and in-life strategy. They will work closely with the various segment practices and channels to identify and successfully leverage Vodacom Business as a broader Technology company.

Your responsibilities will include:

Strategy Execution:

  • Develop and maintain deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitor activity related to the product and the broader technology market.
  • Drive the uptake of [the product] through engagement with the sales organisation, to achieve or exceed the revenue targets and business objectives
  • Participate in shaping sales initiatives and pathways for route-to-market execution of the product strategy, nationally.
  • Drive the product revenue & margin targets. Define and own the GTM Strategy for the product portfolio Value Propositions
  • Achieve Portfolio Commercial Goals (Target revenue, new business & resign TCV, margin, EBIT & Opex)


Channel Development and Sales Revenue Growth:

  • Participate and drive sales cadence and pipeline management for [the product]
  • Inform the annual targets to be set for [the product] according to the agreed business plan, remaining overall accountable for revenue for the product.
  • Ensure the product and product partners are correctly setup to deliver the right services and service levels to translate into an above industry Net Promoters Score (NPS) standard.
  • Inform the price monitoring plan and participate in price optimisation exercises


Stakeholder Management

  • Managing Stakeholders: Strategic management of stakeholders to achieve success in the market. Builds collaborative partnerships and alliances for market success.
  • Managing and collaborating with Vodacom Business management and sales teams to drive profitable growth for the business
  • To work closely with Vodacom Business Stakeholders to ensure they are ready to support the product & related services
  • Collaborate and champion cross-functional working relationships to create a unique, superior customer experience
  • Provide specialised and technical support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of functional and organisational objectives
  • Manage the multiple internal & external stakeholders across the landscape

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Hold a relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering or IT or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications (Desirable)
  • +7yrs Relevant Technology Product management experience
  • Familiar with Product Development lifecycles
  • Excellent track record in delivering high value products & services.
  • Background in Enterprise Product Management preferably

  • Self-starter with a determination to succeed, balanced with appropriate tact and diplomacy
  • Fluent in English
  • Ability to lead in high-growth, high-uncertainty environments
  • Ability to work in an international and distributed virtual team
  • Excellent Customer relationship management skills with ability to interact at Director level
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests
