Job Description
Role purpose:
Product Owner usually expect to work alongside other team members and not above them. The key is their ‘power’ to influence without authority. Earning the trust of those on the product team is the best way to get things done.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Act as an ambassador for the product internally and externally and as the primary contact for queries related to the product.
- Develop scope and define backlog items (epics/features/user stories) that guide the agile software development team.
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders
- Should be able to identify user needs, help a customer understand a business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.
- Drive the business requirements with the business stakeholders into a product backlog.
- Develop and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories that are ready for implementation.
- Document business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications to aid in the development of new business products, solutions, or processes.
- Knows how to take an original idea from concept to an actual product
- Works very closely with developers, UX designers and capable to influence them.
- Works towards an outcome defined goal and product value with agile teams.
- Solve product-related problems, make decisions, complete trade-off analysis to stay on track towards business deliverable commitments.
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
- Business informatics or equivalent combination of education and experience (2-4 years of experience)
- Previous experience as a product owner is not a must.
- Basic software development knowledge.
