What you’ll do

The Principal Architect ensures IT strategy and architecture standards are delivered through major initiatives, leading the design and execution of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for new technologies and principles. The candidate will drive technical strategy, lead architectural initiatives, and introduce modern engineering practices across our organization. This role requires a strong blend of technical depth, architectural thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while guiding teams through complex technology transformations.

More specifically you will:
• Ensure architectural alignment between technology solutions, IT strategy, and business objectives; identify opportunities for reuse and cross-market harmonization.
• Lead the design, execution, and evaluation of Proof of Concepts (PoCs) for emerging technologies and architecture principles, ensuring validation before large-scale adoption.
• Mentor and support Solution Architects in designing complex solutions involving new technologies, cloud-native paradigms, and modern engineering practices.
• Collaborate closely with Engineers, Business and Enterprise Architects to maximize customer value through innovative and scalable solutions.
• Influence strategy definition and its execution through the delivery of an innovative solutions, while gaining influence at senior and technical expert levels across IT and Group function
• Facilitate and run knowledge-sharing sessions, technical deep dives, and experience-sharing workshops to uplift engineering capability across all levels of the organization.

Who you are

• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with modern development environments (e.g., Node.js, Java, Golang, Python).
o Hands-on knowledge of cloud-native architectures and platforms (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes), including Infrastructure as Code and automation practices.
o Proven knowledge and development experience with any modern cloud architectures and practices, like AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Infrastructure As A Code, etc
• Architecture Skills: Ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure distributed systems; experience evaluating new technologies and defining architecture standards.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in both Greek and English, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Must have technical / professional qualifications:
o Academic Degree qualified
o Experience with Digital & IT Enterprise Architecture
o Experience of Agile Way of Working with good knowledge of SAFe and SCRUM
