About this Role

We are seeking an experienced IoT Test Lead Engineer to support Vodafone’s strategic growth areas across Digital, IoT and Cloud Transformation. This role is suited to an individual who combines strong technical testing expertise with leadership capability, takes ownership with minimal supervision, and thrives in fast‑evolving technology environments. You will play a key role in defining testing strategy, leading delivery across complex programmes, and acting as a trusted partner to stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Review business requirements and define the scope of testing across projects.
  • Create and maintain test strategies and detailed test plans.
  • Estimate test effort and align activities with project timelines.
  • Support the team in understanding project scope and delivery priorities.
  • Monitor progress, manage dependencies, and address risks and escalations.
  • Execute and oversee testing of critical project areas.
  • Review high‑level test scenarios and ensure quality coverage.
  • Act as the primary testing point of contact for customers and stakeholders.
  • Manage defect triage sessions with product owners and solution architects.
  • Produce closure documentation and quality reports, including final test reports.
  • Report KPIs related to manual and automation coverage, defect leakage and rejection rates.
  • Work closely with automation and performance testing teams to validate end‑to‑end coverage.
  • Define automation scope and contribute to test framework improvements.
  • Lead and support multiple projects where required.
  • Coach, mentor and support team members in achieving their goals.
  • Review career development plans with team members on a quarterly basis.
  • Propose relevant external training and contribute to continuous process improvement.

Who you are

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Bring 9+ years of hands‑on technology experience, including 5+ years in Testing and Quality Assurance.
  • Have proven experience leading teams of five or more colleagues.
  • Demonstrate strong experience working in Agile and Scrum environments.
  • Possess solid knowledge of testing methodologies, including integration and UAT testing.
  • Have good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Hold an ISTQB Foundation Level Certificate in Software Testing.
  • Are experienced with test management tools such as JIRA and ALM (Quality Center).
  • Have experience testing mobile, web‑based applications and Web APIs.
  • Bring prior exposure to test scripting and automation tools, with the ability to evaluate new frameworks.
  • Show a strong sense of ownership, accountability and independence.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently with technical and non‑technical stakeholders in English.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Are comfortable working across multiple complex and challenging projects.
  • Have exposure to performance and security testing (desirable).
  • Have experience in network testing, including 4G, 5G, IP, gateways and network trace analysis tools such as Wireshark or Netscout (desirable).
