About the role

BT Group is one of the most critical of all UK Critical National Infrastructure.

Our job is simple - protect critical national infrastrature, contributing to teams who are committed to the safety and security of our nation and global communities.

This job role is based in London. Onsite (5 days office based). Monday-Friday 37.5 hours. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Coordinates teams in ensuring delivery of product quality strategies for BT’s family of service offerings and products, overseeing test strategies for business-critical initiatives and developments.
  • Oversees some aspects of software and system quality following a predictable and repeatable engineering process.
  • Leads the identification of quality risks based on high level solution architecture and ensures product quality and governance.
  • Oversees the team’s testing efforts to help ensure high-quality outcomes are delivered in an efficient manner.
  • Leads automated testing to increase test coverage and reduce the amount of manual regression testing performed.
  • Implements new testing methodologies and tools to support agile development lifecycles.
  • Coordinates the design and development of test automation solutions that validate the functionality of applications.
  • Builds and maintains an open collaboration culture with continuous feedback loops for development, product, UX and product leadership, internalising and integrating feedback into QA practices as needed.
  • Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in QA engineering best practices and industry standards.
  • Coaches talent, and manages others, to develop capabilities and ensure performance through upskilling, development and recruitment.
  • Implement ways to improve working processes within the area of software engineering responsibility.

  • Team Lead experience
  • Experience of working on complex large scale programmes
  • Awareness of ISO 9001 and 29119

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • ISTQB certification
  • Support team and programme culture in a positive and cohesive manner
