About this Role

We are seeking a highly experienced portfolio governance and delivery professional to lead the planning, governance, prioritisation and execution oversight of the Talent, Learning & Capability portfolio. This role ensures strategic priorities are translated into a measurable, well-governed and value-driven portfolio of initiatives across a complex global environment.You will provide a single view of portfolio performance by integrating demand, resources, risks, dependencies, investment, adoption and benefits. Working closely with HR Shared Services (HRSS), Centres of Excellence, Finance, Technology and business stakeholders, you will enable informed decision-making, improve delivery confidence and ensure initiatives achieve intended business outcomes.

What you’ll do

Establish and lead portfolio governance frameworks, integrated planning cycles and a unified portfolio roadmap aligned to Talent, Learning & Capability strategy.Manage demand intake processes and facilitate transparent prioritisation based on business value, urgency, capacity, dependencies, affordability and risk.Provide governance forums with evidence-based recommendations and decision-ready insights.Define and maintain programme and project governance standards, assurance processes, stage gates and delivery controls.Oversee portfolio-wide risk, issue, dependency and decision management, ensuring clear ownership and effective escalation.Develop portfolio standards for stakeholder engagement, communications, change management and adoption measurement.Provide portfolio-level oversight of Talent, Learning & Capability activities delivered through HR Shared Services.Establish effective operating interfaces and governance disciplines across HRSS, ensuring visibility of service commitments, risks, impacts and dependencies.Use service insights, stakeholder feedback and performance data to identify opportunities for simplification and continuous improvement.Govern benefits realisation, executive reporting, performance dashboards and portfolio data quality.Oversee portfolio investment reporting and supplier or contract governance where formal authority exists.Apply analytics and responsible AI practices to strengthen portfolio insight, reporting quality and decision-making.Drive continuous improvement initiatives, lessons learned and operational efficiency across the portfolio

Who you are

Extensive experience in portfolio, programme and delivery governance within large-scale global or multi-business transformation environments.Deep understanding of portfolio management, change management, governance, risk management, benefits realisation and delivery assurance practices.Demonstrated experience managing dependencies between strategic HR functions and shared services or operational delivery organisations.Strong capability in executive reporting, stakeholder engagement and influencing senior leaders across multiple functions.Experience working with Finance, Procurement, Communications, Technology, Data teams and professional Centres of Excellence.Advanced ability to integrate strategy, demand, capacity, investment and dependencies into a coherent portfolio view.Skilled in governance design, decision management, prioritisation and portfolio assurance.Strong analytical capability with experience using data and responsible AI approaches to support decision-making.Relevant portfolio, programme, project, change management or risk management qualification, or equivalent professional experience.Experience within people, HR, learning or workforce transformation portfolios would be advantageous
