Job Description

Role purpose

The Channels & Events Branding Manager leads Vodacom Congo’s national channel branding, merchandising, trade event branding and sponsorship event visibility agenda. Based at Head Office within the Brand & Trade Marketing Division, the role sets standards, develops POS, event and sponsorship branding concepts, strengthens dealer engagement and ensures compliant execution through regional teams, agencies and suppliers. The role owns visibility governance across commercial channels, trade events and sponsored platforms, translating commercial and brand priorities into execution frameworks that support merchandising excellence, sponsorship impact, dealer performance, RMS growth and measurable sell-in outcomes.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

National Channel Branding & Merchandising Strategy

  • Develop the national channel branding and merchandising strategy to ensure consistent execution across all distribution channels.
  • Translate commercial priorities, launches and go-to-market plans into clear visibility and sell-in execution standards.
  • Define channel visibility frameworks that improve product availability and commercial performance across Vodashops, distributors, dealers and independent POS.

POS Standards, Event & Sponsorship Branding

  • Define, update and enforce national POS branding standards, signage norms, event visibility playbooks and sponsorship branding guidelines.
  • Design point-of-sale visibility concepts, event branding kits, sponsorship branding assets and Core competencies,

knowledge and experience

• Good understanding of event branding, sponsorship visibility, roadshow set-up, wall painting, POSM production and deployment.

Dealer Engagement & Sell-In GrowthNot a perfect fit?

  • Develop dealer engagement and trade promotional concepts that strengthen visibility, motivation and sell-in performance.
  • Coordinate branding support for dealer activations, digital distribution initiatives, roadshows, trade fairs, commercial events and sponsorship platforms.
  • Drive dealer performance, product availability and RMS adoption through targeted visibility and merchandising programs.

Agency, Supplier & Asset Management

  • Manage agencies, suppliers, printers and production partners to deliver quality, cost-efficient POS materials, branding kits, event assets and sponsorship visibility materials.
  • Oversee production, deployment, maintenance, warehousing and stock control of visibility materials and event infrastructure.
  • Ensure procurement, approvals, budget tracking and supplier execution are compliant with internal governance and lead-time requirements.

Governance, Regional Coordination & Performance Tracking

  • Coordinate nationwide rollout of channel, event and sponsorship branding initiatives through Regional Brand & Trade Marketing Managers and field teams.
  • Track execution quality, brand compliance, asset utilization, cost efficiency, dealer feedback and commercial impact.
  • Produce post-campaign, post-event and sponsorship visibility evaluations, competitor visibility reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with telecom commercial operations, digital distribution, customer acquisition and usage drivers.
  • Understanding of performance metrics, ROI tracking, compliance and governance processes.

Key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Channel visibility and brand compliance score.
  • POSM deployment quality, timeliness and coverage.
  • Trade event and sponsorship branding execution quality, visibility impact and cost efficiency.
  • Dealer engagement, RMS / digital distribution support and sell-in performance uplift.
  • Post-campaign, event and sponsorship evaluation completion, regional compliance, BMS/NPS feedback and mystery shopping results.
  • Direct reports
  • Channels & Events Branding Officers / Coordinators, where applicable.
  • Dotted reports
  • Regional Brand & Trade Marketing Managers; agencies, suppliers, promoters and activation teams.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in trade marketing, brand management, channel marketing, retail visibility, event branding or sponsorship branding roles.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing national branding, merchandising or POS visibility programs.
  • Experience managing agencies, suppliers, production budgets and nationwide rollout timelines.
  • Experience working with Sales, Distribution, regional teams and commercial stakeholders.
  • Telecom, FMCG or multi-channel retail experience is a strong advantage.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communication or equivalent. Fluent in French with good written and spoken English. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
