Job Description

We're currently looking for a Strategic Data and Insight Manager to join our team here at Virgin Media O2! This role sits within our Strategic Planning team, with the purpose of performing strategic data modelling and analytics, creating valuable insight for both our own Network Expansion division and our partners nexfibre.

The role will balance both in-depth data modelling with exec-level summarisation of findings with recommendations, driving optimisation of our strategic build plan and enabling continuous effective strategic decision making within the organisation.

Our new team member will work closely with key internal and external stakeholders, therefore, excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a must! We value collaboration and different perspectives – your strategic input will be encouraged.

The must haves

In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Experience in SQL and relational databases (e.g. MSSQL, MySQL, Postgres, Oracle), with an understanding of other coding languages.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills.
  • Prior experience of working with large and diverse datasets.
  • Data visualisation skills, with experience summarising findings from within complex data and presenting it to key partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to talk to people at all levels of the business and make the complex, simple.

The other stuff we are looking for

We'd also love you to bring;

  • Familiarity with geo-spatial data and software (e.g. QGIS, PostGIS, FME).
  • General Knowledge / awareness of GCP and Big Query.
  • Prior experience / working knowledge of Power BI.
  • Front-End experience with knowledge of Java/PHP language.
