Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Software Engineering to lead our Self-Service & Analytics Platform team. The successful candidate will have a passion for leveraging technology to empower users with self-service analytics capabilities. This role requires proficiency in cloud technologies, data visualisation, databases, CI/CD, and ETL tools, along with a proven track record of building and scaling software platforms. You'll provide technical leadership, guide project and product teams, and develop specialist skills within the team, such as software architecture, data governance, and cyber-security. Additionally, you will stay current with industry trends, ensure compliance and security standards, and integrate best practices into the CI/CD pipelines.
In this role, you will manage a team of engineers, conducting regular one-on-ones, developing career and training plans, and managing staff performance. You will promote a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and continuous learning. Key responsibilities include identifying and mitigating risks, managing dependencies, and ensuring projects stay on track. You will also work closely with go-to-market strategy teams to ensure smooth handover processes. By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will lead the development and maintenance of the Self-Service & Analytics Platform, ensuring high standards of data governance and quality.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Experience in software engineering, with a focus on building complex, distributed systems
- Experience in a leadership or management role, leading high-performing engineering teams
- Proven record of accomplishment of successfully delivering large-scale software projects on time and within budget
- Strong technical ability in programming languages such as [Tableau, Cloud technologies, Python, ETL, Java, Atlan(desirable), DBT (desirable)], as well as modern software development frameworks and methodologies
- Deep understanding of data analytics concepts and technologies, including data visualisation, machine learning, and big data platforms

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
