Procurement Manager

Job Description

This role is part of the Tesco Mobile team and will be based out of the Tesco Mobile Slough, Manchester or Welwyn Garden City office.

You will proactively lead the business in determining and managing the best and most effective sourcing strategy for projects that you are deployed on, providing effective and expedient Procurement support for sourcing related activities.

On the job training will be provided, and you will enjoy support from other established team members. Your ability to demonstrate a team player mentality, having passion and drive, and a proven track record in delivering results is more important than the breath or level of experience that you have.

You will lead on end to end vendor sourcing, from RFI/RFQ’s, leading on negotiations, supporting cross functional evaluations, contract construction (within templates provided) into contract lifecycle management. You should be capable of communicating and resolving any challenges across the business at all levels of management.

The role provides the opportunity for a varied work load, and would suit an individual looking for new challenges with a constantly evolving portfolio. You should thrive in flexible ways of working, as part of a team of three, your workload will regularly flex between colleagues and categories as both your, and your colleagues capacity dictates. The business supports personal development through exposure to new categories, and you can, within reason input and influence which categories and contracts you work on. The must haves In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;

  • Previous experience in procurement within IT, Technology or Digital.
  • Outstanding commercial negotiating skills.
  • A sound knowledge of core Legal contractual terms, and experience of negotiating and delivering complex contracts
  • A strong team player, our success is dependent on each other, transparency, good interpersonal skills and personal integrity are all key.
  • Excellent influencing skills with the ability to act as an ambassador for the business both internally and externally.

The other stuff we are looking for We'd also love you to bring;

  • Working in an agile environment.
  • MCIPS would be advantageous.
