Job title: Procurement Group Leader

Salary: £54,793+ (Depending on skills and experience)

What you’ll be doing:

  • You will be managing a team of buyers, including competencies, development, training and reporting
  • You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and being the primary interface for Orderbook and Performance issues/escalations
  • You are going to be engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the product or service provision meets the governance requirements of the business and our customers and delivers optimum value for money on time, at cost and quality (OTIF) – all levels
  • You will be leading all orderbook activities for the In-Service Support of DASS & Radar including on time order placement, enablement, on time delivery and on time invoice payments within the framework of Business Governance, Compliance and Best Practice, as well as measuring KPIs against Customer in-service support contracts
  • You are going to be influencing and expediting dependencies via robust review mechanisms with suppliers and internal stakeholders, including functions, e.g. PM, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance
  • You are going to be leading and supporting Performance Business Reviews with Suppliers at weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual intervals
  • You are managing Supplier risk, business continuity and drive supply chain resilience
  • Occasional travel within UK and Europe as and when required

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Extensive Procurement or Supply Chain management experience, including detailed understanding and experience of supplier risk and opportunity management
  • A proven ability to collaborate, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders and having excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A Continuous Improvement mind-set, problem solving and working collaboratively with others to identify a solution ideally within a Procurement (or similar) environment
  • Ability to think strategically and politically whilst dealing with a complex and business-shaping supplier, changing priorities including multiple customer demands
  • Working understanding of tool sets and IT such as ERP systems, Microsoft Office programs and Tableau dashboarding
  • Ability to compile data, analyse and propose recommendations through reports and presentations

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of managing a small team
  • You will have, or be working towards MCIPS OR have a similar professional qualification OR hold a degree in a business-related subject (e.g. Economics, Business, Finance)
  • A level of PM skills that would support the management & coordination of activities that fall cross-functional with key dependencies
