Full Stack Developer (Python) – Network Automation – 18 months FTC

We have an exciting new role for a Full Stack Developer (Python) to join our mobile operations team. There is a major technology transformation as Virgin Media O2 moves to automate our network and this is a key role developing the automation solutions.

The purpose of this role is to develop the Jira stories in the sprint backlog ensuring that quality and security standards are meet. You will be required to participate in the scrum ceremonies including the sprint demos where you will work with the senior Developer to show the customer the progress made in the sprint, and make any adjustments that may be required based on the customer feedback.

The must haves

  • Proficiency in Python: Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in Python programming language
  • Frontend Development: Proven expertise in frontend development with proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js
  • Web Frameworks: Experience in developing web applications using Django, Flask, and FastAPI
  • Database Management: Thorough understanding and practical experience in database usage and management such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • API Development: Experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Google Cloud Platform.
  • Good PHP development skills and experience (with specific focus on the Laravel framework)
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Understanding of the layout and operation of a mobile network.
