Finance Manager - Fibre Upgrade

Job Description

The role of the Finance Manager is crucial in ensuring that the financial data within the Fibre Upgrade programme is accurate and robust, with month end actuals, budget and forecasts all delivered within the defined timescales and presented to stakeholders.

You will be part of the Operational Capital Planning team and work alongside delivery/operations, external partner teams and wider VMO2 teams to ensure all month end requirements and FP&A activity is completed to the predetermined VMO2 finance timetable.

You will report to the Senior CPP (Cost per Premise) Manager for the Fibre Upgrade programme and report numbers into the Fibre Up Program itself & the VM Finance Business Partner for NSE.

The Fibre Upgrade programme is in its first few years of rollout of the passive infrastructure and has also now started on its active and backhaul builds, while continuing to set up processes and make improvements to become the best performing team and programme. It’s an exciting time to get involved as you will be part of the set-up of the next stage and then continuous improvements as the years' progress.

The must haves

  • Significant experience of forecasting financial impact of options / scenario analysis
  • CIMA / ACCA / ICAEW accounting qualification, with a number of years experience post qualification
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of Oracle or similar accounting systems and a high competence with MS Office packages

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Knowledge of PowerBI is an advantage
  • This is a hands-on role as processes and procedures are designed and implemented. Experience of multitasking is a must
  • Experience of telecoms programmes and BAU activities in large corporate organisations
  • Capable of presenting to Senior Leadership
