Job Description

We are recruiting for an Access Network Architect to support the ongoing evolution of the PON network.

This is a key role providing technical leadership and direction into the Virgin Media O2 organisation via platform roadmaps, strategy papers, and design standards to ensure alignment with operating challenges, regulatory need, cost pressures, product development and growth aspirations.

You will transform product & business requirements into architecture with supporting technical collateral, while working with Virgin Media O2 Engineering to steer design & modelling. You will also provide technical consultancy to Product, Programme Management & other relevant business areas to scope and onboard new initiatives.

This role is flexible on our locations across the UK

We support and encourage you to be your authentic self throughout your application journey with us.

The must haves

  • Experience in developing architectural solutions within a Tier 1 carrier class network is essential, specifically to support network access products.
  • Technical expert in PON technology encompassing passive and logical FTTP architecture principles, including L2 Aggregation, XGSPON, OLTs and BNGs, with a focus on virtualisation.
  • Innovation, using new technologies to drive service and customer experience improvements across the Access Network.

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Experience with and / or good theoretical knowledge of emerging technologies such as SR-MPLS.

What's in it for you

All work and no play just isn't our style! We're already planning our future ways of working, for when life becomes a little more normal again. We're constantly evolving our approach to enable you to find a great work life balance.
