Job Description
We are recruiting for a RAN and Spectrum Strategy Expert to join our Radio Access Network (RAN) Technology strategy and Architecture Strategy Team . We are looking for a candidate that lives and breathes RAN technologies, you will work as our Subject Matter Expert across Virgin Media O2 and act as an ambassador and thought leader externally. This is a high profile and very visible role.
TS&A team plays a pivotal role in setting the strategic technical direction of VMO2 mobile network technology strategy. We guide and challenge decision makers to make the best strategic technology choices and support them to find a safe path to the most important technology innovations to transform our business and achieve our strategic goals.

The must haves
In order to be considered, you must have the following experience;
- Deep understanding and relevant practical experience with 3GPP RAN technologies including LTE, LTE-Advanced, 5G, and 5G advance.
- Deep understanding and relevant practical experience of mobile spectrum principles, management techniques.
- Deep understanding and relevant practical experience with radio traffic analysis and spectrum capacity dimensioning.
- Deep understanding and relevant practical experience of radio wave propagation principles, theories, and its application in mobile coverage prediction.
- Deep understanding of the relevant global and UK spectrum assignment process and regulations framework, standardisation bodies governing allocation and use of mobile spectrum
The other stuff we are looking for
- Understanding of network infrastructure sharing techniques and capability enablers, both passive and active sharing.
- Familiar with JOTS forum Neutral Host technical specifications.
- Good understanding of RF Health regulations and their application to mobile networks.
