Job Description

As a Principal Cyber Security Engineer at O2 Daisy, you will serve as a senior technical leader within the Security Operations function, responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of O2 Daisy’s cyber security portfolio.

Operating at the national level, you will provide expert technical guidance, leadership, and hands-on support across both internal operations and external customer engagements.

In this critical role, you will guide and work alongside a team of security specialists, fostering their development and coordinating efforts to deliver world-class security solutions.

You will act as a trusted advisor across our Virgin Media Business, O2 Business, Virgin Media O2, and Daisy brands offering specialist support delivering, maintaining, and improving our products. You’ll be interfacing with Order & Delivery teams, Business Operations, Product Management, Network Engineering, and external suppliers.

The must haves

  • Palo Alto PCNSE certification or equivalent hands-on experience, including strong knowledge of Strata Cloud Suite.
  • Cisco security certification (minimum CCSP) or solid experience in multi-vendor environments (Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, F5, Zscaler, Versa)
  • Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies, with experience configuring and troubleshooting complex LAN/WAN networks.
  • Proven ability to implement and support complex security solutions and maintain governance & compliance controls.
  • Ability to work across secure environments and obtain NPPV3 + SC clearance.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24x7 on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support

The other stuff we are looking for

  • Advanced certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
  • Vendor-specific certifications beyond the essentials, e.g., Fortinet, Cisco Security, Versa
  • Experience with cloud security platforms and hybrid environments.
