Job Description

Our Credit Risk team turn data into smarter, sharper credit decisions. Grow your potential as a Data Analyst Apprentice and build hands-on experience with real data, real systems and real impact, earning a starting salary of £27,000 whilst doing it.

Make things happen

As an apprentice, you’ll start by shadowing experienced analysts, learning our systems, and building a solid understanding of the credit risk lifecycle. As you progress through your apprenticeship, we’ll ensure you’re able to investigate credit strategy performance, spot opportunities for improvement, and contribute to real decisioning conversations at at Virgin Media O2. Day-to-day, you could be:

  • Identifying issues, gaps and opportunities in our credit risk strategy
  • Supporting regular reporting and documenting findings clearly
  • Collaborating with teams like Fraud, Data, or Operations to gather insights

This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to become skilled in your role, and combines on the job learning and academic study, where you’ll spend approximately 20% of your working hours completing learning with one of our training providers. The programme is fully funded by us, and we’ll support you from day one, ensuring you complete your apprenticeship with a nationally recognised qualification.

The must haves

To be eligible, you’ll need at least five GCSEs at Level 4–9 (or equivalent).

The other stuff we are looking for

We’re looking for motivated candidates who are passionate about learning how to work with large data sets to solve real business problems. Experience in coding is useful but not essential. You’ll learn the technical skills here - all we’re looking for is curiosity and a willingness to develop. We’re keen to see qualities such as:

  • An understanding of the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • A methodical mindset and good attention to detail
  • The ability to interpret complex information and communicate it clearly
