What you’ll be doing...
Ensure cash management is performed accurately, completely, and timely, in accordance with rules and regulations of each country whether domestic US or international.
Ensure cash is available when and where it is needed, including cash transfers (funds; draws; third party wires; ACH; FX Trades) and concentration.
Manage, consolidate and align bank accounts and cash pool structure for domestic US and/or international.
Oversee and/or perform daily and monthly reconciliations and closing procedures to ensure bank account balances are properly reflected in the treasury workstation, and execute target balancing.
Maintain accurate data in the treasury workstation and/or bank portals – e.g., banks, bank accounts, legal entities / cash pools, general ledger account templates and posting rules, cash and non-cash recording, counterparty wire instructions.
Assist with cross-training and coverage of daily cash management functions for other team members when they are out of the office.
Provide cash management support for mergers and acquisitions and other special projects, when necessary.
Drive process improvement by initiating, leading, and executing projects that align with Verizon and Treasury department objectives, including collaboration with key stakeholders.
Maintain and enhance procedural documentation, and proactively identify process improvements, e.g., leveraging automation, digital finance initiatives, or other leading-edge industry-wide technologies.
Provide clear and timely responses to stakeholder inquiries, internal and external auditor requests, and SOX compliance matters.
Partner cross-functionally to help drive Verizon’s transition to 1ERP, including collaboration with dependent stakeholders.
Exercise leadership, aid in the development of other team members, help drive a culture that aligns with Verizon’s Credo and strategic objectives, and exhibit focus on continuous personal development.
Has a teamwork mindset, i.e., helps others with assigned tasks; helps facilitate and participates in team building, etc.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Knowledge of Treasury, Accounting, and/or financial analysis.
Experience with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office Suite with proven focus on spreadsheets.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
A professional certification, e.g., CTP, CPA, CFA.
Knowledge of corporate treasury, bank reporting, and products/services offered by the banks.
Knowledge of key organizations that interact with Treasury, e.g., Bill to Cash, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Accounting.
Knowledge of the preparation of general ledgers, basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, and SOX controls / frameworks.
Experience in Treasury applications, e.g., Quantum, SAP, etc.
Experience with digital finance tools, including deployment within core processes.
Skilled with analyzing / processing internal and external information, and translating findings or raw data into meaningful information and results.
Experience with mentoring and training employees, e.g., peer coaching.
Excellent communications skills and ability to focus on the detail.
