The purpose of the App Marketing & Growth function is to drive commercial growth of the TUI app, with the goal of increasing the app’s share of passenger bookings to 15% of total business within the next 3 years. The intention is that this will be achieved through growth of new app users, enhanced re-engagement of existing users and growth of sales intent, purchase frequency and value, while developing the app’s value proposition, commercial trading and merchandising capabilities to grow conversions and deliver further value from our app users. The Product Analyst will work closely with stakeholders within this function in the expanding team, working alongside marketing, acquisition, commercial and merchandising specialists to help deliver these goals.

ABOUT THE JOB

The core of your role will be liaising with a wide variety of stakeholders to support and shape strategic business initiatives through the application of data and insight, drawing on knowledge from App Analytics and other teams (e.g. Musement, Web analytics, customer analytics and commercial analytics) where applicable. You will be involved in exploration of business-wide projects that relate to digital product analytics and will involve working alongside other analytics teams within the business (Musement, Customer and Commercial) to develop insight and solutions as a holistic group.

In relation to analytics availability, you will be responsible for creating targets for the App product teams, actionable reports, and dashboards to monitor Group-wide performance. Taking an educational/support approach, you will encourage self-service by stakeholders using clear reports by training non-analytical experts like Product owners, UX experts etc. You will enable embedding analytics into cross-functional agile delivery teams by working on the Analytics framework along with other digital analysts in the organisation.

You will be working alongside Digital Analysts embedded within pods to drive cross product/pod insights and will have opportunity to support and shape the development of our multiple apps and features by working closely with UX, Design, POs. and App implementation specialists to gather Analytics requirements for new features and provide detailed analysis when delivered.

You will develop and share best practice for conducting feature analysis or A/B tests focussing on:

  • Hypothesis generation by working along with POs, DX experts
  • Creating a test plan based on the hypothesis
  • Writing Dev requirements along with implementation experts
  • Ensuring the test/feature is deployed correctly and the data is validated
  • Test measurement:
  • Calculation sample size
  • Test duration
  • Using various approaches to calculate significance like Baysian, t-Test, Chi-square
  • Understating of type I and Type II errors
  • Degree of freedom
  • Interpreting results
  • Interpreting results: assigning value if successful, else learn and iterate.
  • You will also be responsible for coaching stakeholders to achieve greater analytical understanding and adoption of data-driven digital change.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in using enterprise level digital analytics solutions, ideally Big Query using SQL or Adobe Analytics, GA360.
  • Experience manipulating and analysing data through SQL for Big Query, R or Python, and a basic understanding of statistics.
  • Appreciation and/or implementation experience of digital analytics data collection methods in App
  • Experience with visualisation tools (Tableau, Spotfire, Data Studio…).
  • Data analysis. Comparing data sets, identifying valuable customer segments, spotting trends, seeking reasons for reduced conversion rates. Presenting the results as insights and recommendations at a business level.
  • Proven stakeholder management abilities with ability to educate and drive change
  • Numerate and analytical mind set with a focus on the commercial benefits of making changes
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to communicate complex data effectively to a variety of audiences via a variety of means (visual, verbal and written)
  • Passion for data and delivering meaningful insight
  • Interest in the travel industry and digital technology/ developments
  • Understanding of digital data collection techniques and limitations
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork focus
  • Strong learning agility with enthusiasm to learn and develop new skill
  • Wider knowledge of digital technology (outside of analytics) preferable
