As a consultant – data science and analytics you will work as part of an agile team to deliver innovative, algorithmic solutions to complex problems ensuring that solutions are rigorously tested and deliver business value. We expect solutions to make use of sophisticated algorithms whilst enabling high levels of decision-making transparency and user control. You will work at all stages of the development lifecycle from idea generation to testing, implementation and operational support.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a consultant – data science and analytics, you will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team within your business area, to develop sophisticated solutions to support multiple TUI markets. As a valued partner you will combine technical skills and business understanding to maximise the value that your work delivers. You are comfortable with business, data and technology complexity and can take a logical approach to structuring a problem. You work effectively with a variety of stakeholders both technical and non-technical and tailor your communication to meet their demand and expectation. You break down complexity to a relatable level and communicate key points, where necessary making use of effective data visualisations. You manage your own work in an agile manner to meet deadlines and maximise value.

As a consultant – data science and analytics, you will use your deep understanding of the business area to consult on possible solutions including their pros and cons and finding the best split between good enough and too complex. You always drive for a high level of automation and technical excellence using your knowledge of the technical environments you are working with including use of cloud services. Bringing in your mathematical skills, you understand a range of different data science methods including statistical models, machine learning and optimisation algorithms. You are comfortable sourcing and analysing data and working with Data Lakes, Data Warehouses and different data structures.

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving skills coupled with an analytical mindset
  • A track record of delivering business value with analytical solutions
  • Experience analysing and manipulating data using Python, SQL or similar
  • Understanding of data science and machine learning approaches and applications
  • Experience in data visualisation using relevant tools
  • Ability to manage an analytics project in an agile manner individually or as part of a wider team
  • Good understanding of different data structures including cloud platforms
  • Open minded, inquisitive, life-long learner
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, highly autonomous
  • You have a degree or equivalent experience in computer science, mathematics, or a subject involving similar analytical skills
