Job Description

As the Commercial Sales Executive you will be the main point of contact for TUI Airways and TUIfly Nordic Ad-hoc charter sales, using the spare fleet capacity to negotiate, secure and execute contracts to deliver financial contribution to the business while meeting the needs of the customers.

You will be directly involved with our seasonal external tour operators and external cruise companies, who purchase capacity from TUI UK & Ireland or TUI Airways, to deliver a smooth operation working from contract set up through to assisting in resolving any post flight issues.

You will also be a key contact for the Airline partners that TUI UK & Ireland purchase additional capacity from to meet seasonal capacity demands and you will be directly involved from contract set up and will maintain ongoing oversight during the season and assisting in resolving any challenges that may occur during or post operation.

As part of the Aviation Planning team, you will be a key source of essential information for a wide range of TUI colleagues and you will have the opportunity to work with different parts of the TUI UK & Ireland and TUI Airways organisations to develop and continually improve how we work collaboratively across the business.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Responsible for identifying opportunities for additional Ad-hoc charter flights, including managing initial charter enquiries, confirming fleet availability and route suitability, building quotations to issue to external charterers, through to obtaining internal approvals for the additional flying.
  • You’ll agree contract terms with the customer and work closely with TUI operational stakeholders holding regular internal meetings as you work through the implementation, to ensure all aspects of the flight are delivered for all parties. You will also ensure all contracts are executed and payments are received in a timely manner, whilst producing regular financial reports
  • Working with external Tour Operators and Cruise companies, on the planning and implementation of seasonal capacity they have purchased from TUI Airways or TUI UK & Ireland, to ensure all details are in place ahead of commencement of flight operations. You’ll hold regular key stakeholder meetings before the season and throughout, to best manage the delivery of the flying. You will also update and own the Charterers guide that is a key source of information for all our Charterers.
  • Assist in the implementation of additional seasonal capacity that TUI UK & Ireland purchase to support our tour operator requirements and you will be a key point of contact with those suppliers to ensure TUI have all the necessary systems set up and contractual and regulatory information in place and held correctly within systems,
  • Collate and maintain information from our seasonal charter Airline partners, which forms part of essential information that you will share widely across the TUI network of stores, contact centres and head office teams, to be used in our customer interactions and customer documentation. You will work with the TUI customer and operational teams to continually improve processes with our charter Airline partners.
  • Monitor operational and customer feedback on all flights both operated by TUI and operated for TUI that you will be responsible for, to ensure where issues arise, early intervention is taken to resolve working with our customers or suppliers.
  • Occasionally required to visit clients and to represent TUI at industry events, both domestically and overseas.

ABOUT YOU

  • Airline / Tour Operator Sales Experience: Demonstrated experience in sales within the airline or tour operator industry, with a solid understanding of customer needs and market dynamics.
  • Confident and Self-Motivated: A proactive individual who thrives both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Confidence and self-motivation are essential for success in this role.
  • Negotiation and Communication Skills: Excellent negotiation abilities and effective communication skills. You’ll engage with stakeholders at all levels, including clients, partners, and internal teams.
  • Commercial Insight: A goal-oriented mindset with strong analytical skills. You’ll be responsible for making informed commercial decisions related to sales strategies and revenue growth.
  • Numeracy and IT Competence: Highly numerate, with a keen eye for detail. Proficiency in IT tools and systems is crucial for managing sales data and performance metrics.
  • Deadline-Driven: Accustomed to working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Your ability to prioritize tasks and meet targets will be vital.
  • Change Agent: A positive attitude even in challenging situations. You’ll drive change and contribute to continuous improvement within the team.
