Job Description

As the Analyst – Fleet Management, you will be responsible for supporting various team activities, including analysis of lease extension opportunities, work on fleet strategies, and various ad hoc analyses. This will be achieved through coordinating and collaborating with Group Finance, Source Market commercial functions, Engineering & Maintenance, and other TUI departments.

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Support Head of Group Fleet Management and Manager – Fleet Management in preparation and maintenance of strategic and operational fleet plans for the various TUI Group airlines

  • Ensure the aircraft database is updated regularly, either directly or in collaboration with others in the team, so that it reflects the latest fleet status and is readily available to support decision-making

  • Quarterly reporting – produce various fleet reports for use across the TUI Group, including key stakeholders of Investor Relations, Group Treasury and Group Accounting

  • Carry out aircraft scenario analyses comparing cost of lease extensions versus returning aircraft and/or taking market aircraft, including maintenance fly forward models

  • Support the evaluation of the commercial, financial and operational implications of ACMI / charter aircraft versus in-house aircraft to fulfil tour operator demand and provide greater visibility and involvement in the produce vs buy decisions (at a whole aircraft, whole season level)

  • Help ensure that timely decisions and business cases are made for the usage of contractual terms on OEM and finance contracts e.g. purchase options / lease extension options / call options

  • Participate in the evaluation of new aircraft types which may be introduced to TUI Group’s fleet

  • Build awareness of the market and competitor landscape to provide inputs / feedback to senior management on relevant topics

  • General support of ad hoc business cases produced by FCM to deliver TUI Group’s fleet requirements and any other projects and activities within the team

ABOUT YOU

  • Highly commercial and analytical individual with demonstrable attention to detail

  • Proactive attitude with ability to think strategically and to effectively capture complex scenarios in various analytical models to help drive decision making

  • Previous experience with analysis of operating leases (e.g. flyforward modelling) is preferred

  • Advanced use of Excel; knowledge of databases, VBA, SQL would be beneficial

  • Ability to work to tight timescales / deadlines including compilation of accurate auditable files

  • Educated to Bachelor level in a Finance / Engineering discipline or alternatively minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience

  • Role requires strong business English, both spoken and written, and may involve some international travel
