Job Description

Product Designer

Your Mission

We’re looking for a Product Designer who can have a big impact on our products. As part of a small but growing team, you’ll have the opportunity to influence product decisions and ship impactful features.

Working closely with our Senior Product Designer and 3 Product Managers, you’ll be at the core of a team that works at pace to identify and solve complex product problems and work with our engineering team to deliver features efficiently.

You'll be critical in thinking through what the best product experience should look like, both for our end users (employees) who engage with our products every day, as well as HR admins as they create and manage their benefits programmes.

Our ambition is to build a consumer-grade product and brand in an antiquated B2B space. The user experience is the beating heart of this vision. From a designer’s perspective, the product is a unique mix of Fintech, eCommerce and SaaS challenges.

There is plenty of variety and tough problems to crack and an experienced team to learn and develop skills from along the way.

What you'll be working on

  • Designing and delivering quality, accessible user interfaces for web products with high levels of craft and attention to detail.

  • Partnering with product managers and stakeholders in other areas of the business to understand requirements and shape our products.

  • Assist in planning, designing for and executing user tests and interviews.

  • Working with our Senior Product Designer to prepare designs for development.

  • Working with engineers to discuss, handover and test designs.

  • Use and contribute to our growing design system in both Figma and Storybook, to help with creating a scalable design foundation.

  • Giving and receiving constructive feedback from your peers and others across the organisation to grow as a design practitioner.

  • Have experience making improvements to existing design systems

  • Strive to create consistent product experiences

Your Skills and Experience

We think you'll excel in this role if you...

  • Have several years of hands-on experience designing SaaS products or other digital products.

  • Have a portfolio of projects that demonstrates strong UX and UI skills, contextualised with solid thinking and rationale. (Don’t worry if projects aren’t finished, live or end-to-end. We can discuss them together.)

  • Can demonstrate understanding of design fundamentals (layout, typography, colour, interaction etc).

  • Have some experience creating pragmatic prototypes and running user tests - You love working with users to understand their needs and identify opportunities for improvement and new ideas.

  • Can collaborate closely other designers, product managers and engineers as part of the agile development process.

  • Have a continuous improvement mindset. You appreciate that there are always ways to do things better and will speak up to ensure improvement.

  • Have a bias to action over time spent on analysis.

  • Are fluent in Figma and feel comfortable using advanced features such as variables
