Why this role?This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of organic search and AI visibility for Tesco Insurance and Money Services. As search behaviours continue to evolve, this role will play a critical part in ensuring our products remain highly visible across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered answer engines. You'll drive strategies that directly impact customer acquisition and commercial growth, while working with a broad range of stakeholders across product, digital, PR and agency teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence the development of a growing capability area, combining strategic thinking, data-driven decision making and hands-on SEO expertise to deliver measurable business outcomes.
What you’ll be doing • Deliver growth in organic search visibility, traffic and sales by executing SEO and GEO visibility strategies across a portfolio of products. • Build and manage a prioritised SEO content roadmap that aligns customer search intent and business objectives to maximise performance. • Identify and capitalise on SEO growth opportunities through analysis of search performance, competitor activity, customer behaviour and market trends. • Deliver SEO initiatives across internal teams and agency partners, ensuring activity is executed effectively and aligned to strategic priorities. • Increase Tesco Insurance and Money Services' visibility within AI-powered search experiences by developing and implementing Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) approaches. • Provide actionable performance insights through robust reporting and analysis, embedding SEO best practice in all strategic planning.
What we’re looking for (minimum criteria)
• Proven experience (4+ years) developing and delivering successful SEO strategies that drive measurable improvements in organic visibility and business performance. • Strong understanding of technical SEO principles, including indexation, site architecture and structured data. • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and identify opportunities, with experience in leading SEO analytic platforms such as Google Search console, Semrush, Ahrefs or similar tools. • Experience managing stakeholders and agency partners, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
And if you have any of these, even better • Experience optimising visibility across AI-powered search platforms and emerging search technologies, including GEO methodologies. • Experience developing content and optimisation strategies specifically designed to improve visibility within AI answer engines.• Knowledge of digital PR and authority-building strategies.
