Job Description

Product Managers at Tesco Technology are passionate about solving customer & business problems and discovering new customer & business opportunities. They take accountability for complex problems and company strategic products, and are empowered to drive the product strategy, the roadmap and the outcomes. Driven by curiosity and innovation, coupled with a strong partnership with Business, Engineering, User Research & Design and Analytics teams, our Product Managers create value for our customers across the Tesco Group.

About the role:

Product Lifecycle Services are part of the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) team within Commercial Product.

PLM is responsible for developing technology solutions that support every stage of the product lifecycle. This includes inducting products, maintaining product quality, managing taxonomy, and ensuring accurate product data integration across the entire Tesco ecosystem.

Product Lifecycle Services consist of the following components, each serving a specific function:

  • · The Induct Core Service and its integration module retrieve and validate product and pack data from numerous sources before transmitting it to the Product Lifecycle (PLC) API. All dynamic logic related to different product types, workflows, and user permissions is managed prior to storage.
  • · The Product Lifecycle (PLC) API serves as the single authoritative source for all product and pack data. Product information is forwarded to both the Product API and TUS API, which then distribute the data to downstream systems such as TAP, stores, and online platforms.

Stakeholders for these services include various teams across the organisation, ranging from Technology groups to non-Technology business units such as Legal and Commercial. The goal is to address the requirements of all verticals within the business.

As a Product Manager, you will have a critical role in refining and optimising these processes through platform-driven solutions, thereby supporting the delivery of products to millions of customers in timely and convenient ways.

We seek a talented, self-motivated Product Manager with strong growth potential to join our outstanding product team within a high-performing organisation.

• Support the development of the vision, strategy, roadmap and work with stakeholders to ensure complete alignment across Tesco. • Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, both internal and external stakeholders with varied technical backgrounds. • Support discovery into key business problems & drive rapid hypotheses testing to inform cross-team prioritisation. • Map our problems and work to solve them in ways our customers love while creating value for the business. • Continuously challenge solutions to ensure they deliver value. • Understand the pain points and problems of key user personas, customers & stakeholders. • Focus on delivering outcomes rather than outputs. • Prioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues. • Work within a team of experienced Product Managers who will help and support your development. • Attend & participate in Product and Leadership events to support your career. • Follow our Business Code of Conduct and always act with integrity and due diligence.

  • Knowledge and experience of product management best practice, methodologies and strong technical experience.
  • Technically competent to influence and understand the solution context and approach (legacy, tactical, strategic) and aid engineering in estimating the complexity of work being requested.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, and teams across the business. Able to leverage these relationships to build consensus, drive change, and deliver value.
  • Proven track record of contributing to a product roadmap and executing on product backlogs to achieve Outcomes & Key Results.
