Team Lead Export & Transport Planning
Job Description
Job Description
Are You Ready to Make It Happen at Mondelēz International?
Join our Mission to Lead the Future of Snacking. Make It Possible.
The Team Leader - Transport & Export coordinates and supervises the team of specialists responsible for domestic and international transport operations, export/import customs clearance, and delivery planning. In addition to the direct execution of critical operational activities (customs clearance, Direct Plant Shipment customer planning, 3PL coordination), the Team Leader ensures team performance, professional development of team members, compliance with operational standards (including 5S and HSE), and achievement of departmental KPIs
Key Responsibilities
Transport Planning & 3PL Coordination
- Develop production-aligned loading plans and manage NPD multi-channel planning in coordination with Planning and Quality; ensure plans are executed as allocated.
- When exceptions arise, assess impact, prioritize shipments based on business criticality, escalate for support, or initiate the appropriate flow to protect customer commitments.
- Lead daily and weekly transport planning — truck slots, loading schedules, and stock transfers across all outbound and inbound logistics channels.
- Own the full stock transfer lifecycle with our 3PL warehouse partner (for Export Plant): planning, in-transit tracking, receipt, reconciliation, and exception resolution. Closely monitor stock levels and ensure short shelf-life products are prioritized and allocated first, avoiding unnecessary scrap.
- Lead weekly 3PL planning meetings; monitor 3PL KPIs and drive corrective actions when performance falls below targets.
Customs & Compliance
- Own end-to-end customs for both export and import flows, ensuring all documentation meets EU and national regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with the customs broker and authorities; manage compliance risks, accounts, and financial replenishment processes.
- Resolve freight cost claims and import compliance actions in line with agreed service levels.
Team Leadership & Development
- Coordinate and supervise the Transport & Export specialists team; manage workload distribution and resource allocation.
- Drive professional development through coaching, mentoring, training, and regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative, results-oriented team culture.
Standards, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Implement and maintain 5S workplace organization and HSE standards across all team activities.
- Track, analyze, and report on departmental KPIs; identify improvement areas and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure audit readiness and documentation standards.
- Continuously seek opportunities to reduce manual workload through process automation and digitalization initiatives..
What is needed
A desire to drive your future and accelerate your career, and the following experience and knowledge:
- 4+ years in international transport and/or customs operations; solid grasp of the full customs cycle and cross-border logistics.
- 1+ year in a supervisory or team coordination role, with proven ability to lead and develop a small team.
- Proven experience coordinating with a 3PL warehouse partner: stock transfers, joint planning, and performance accountability.
- Solid knowledge of EU customs regulations, Incoterms, and documentation requirements for export and import flows.
- Confident SAP user; familiarity with TMS platforms (iNET, Alpega preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance hands-on execution with strategic planning.
- Advanced English, written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Customs broker certification or formal training in EU customs procedures.
- FMCG, food & beverage, or consumer goods logistics background.
- Experience with APO/IBP, lean methodologies, or continuous improvement.
Extra Ingredients You Will Bring
- Solutions-first mindset — confident making decisions under time pressure.
- Cross-functional influence across Planning, Warehouse, Finance, and Commercial teams.
- Resilience in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality and team cohesion.
- Growth mindset — eager to implement improvements that raise the bar for the whole team.
Education & Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field.
- Availability during standard production hours, with flexibility during peak export and month-end cycles.
- Primarily warehouse/office-based; occasional visits to production plant, 3PL warehouse, or partner sites.
- Full-time, 40h/week. Standard hours with flexibility during peak logistics periods.
