The opportunity

Shieldpay is on a mission to keep building a pipeline of clients throughout the professional sector and introduce them to the Shieldpay platform. To help us do that, we're looking for a Sales & Development Representative who will help execute our business strategy and focus on market themes giving rise to potential escrow and corporate payment opportunities.

As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for introducing Shieldpay to new prospects, identifying the client's pains, uncovering opportunities, and growing the pipeline through email outreach, LinkedIn messaging, video and phone calls. This will entail researching and identifying relevant stakeholders in the sales decision-making process. This role will be part of an established, high-performing SDR function that continues to overachieve against its financial targets.

What you’ll be doing

  • Sourcing and securing leads with prospective clients by connecting via external networking platforms, generating new referrals, and fielding inbound leads
  • Showcasing how Shieldpay can make a real difference to prospective clients and able to passionately articulate the Shieldpay value proposition and relevant use cases
  • Responsible for nurturing prospects by gathering initial requirements and working with the wider Sales team to progress the relationship through to closing the deal
  • Be creative with how you go about engaging with prospective clients
  • Maintain the internal database and ensure all essential activity is logged and internal stakeholders are regularly updated
  • Proactively marketing Shieldpay’s services, with a view to always generating new business and additional revenue but maintaining an ethical, honest, and regulatory-focused approach
  • Work closely with marketing, product, legal, and compliance teams to drive new business and develop Shieldpay positioning within the market

What we're looking for in you

  • A self-starter who’s disciplined and motivated, with a very high level of prominence and gravitas
  • A great communicator – you excel at explaining things to people and have flawless written and spoken English
  • Experience in corporate B2B or SaaS business development
  • Commercial and entrepreneurial persona with a solutions-orientated “roll your sleeves up” approach
  • Comfortable with all levels of seniority when selling or negotiating
  • Keen interest in FinTech/ understanding of the payments space
  • You have an operational mind and can offer insight into making processes more streamlined
  • Exceptional organisational skills, ensuring that tasks are efficiently managed and executed with close attention to detail
