ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This position supports the execution of Ireland Payroll and UK Payroll and transactions in accordance with documented procedures within the People & Culture Global Service Delivery Organization. This role delivers payroll operations by helping to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory local tax rules.
As part of the P&C organization, this role works closely with P&C stakeholders, Finance, external vendors, and employees to address payroll-related inquiries and support consistent payroll delivery. The position contributes to payroll operations by assisting with issue resolution, supporting system updates, and identifying opportunities to improve processes under guidance from senior team members.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in processing Irish (and UK) payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Support the review of payroll data and help identify discrepancies
Assist in ensuring accurate payroll postings to the general ledger
Support compliance with and local payroll tax and Social Insurance regulations
Ensure compliance with Ireland and UK payroll regulations including Income Tax, National Insurance, pensions, and statutory leave payments.
Maintain payroll documentation, standard operating procedures, and control frameworks.
Keep current with legislative and regulatory changes affecting payroll.
Monitor and escalate payroll issues or discrepancies as appropriate
Assist with wage reporting, tax filing, and all regulatory year-end activities
Respond to routine payroll inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders
Support investigation and resolution of payroll discrepancies with guidance from senior team members
Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and enhancements
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Maintain and update payroll procedures and documentation
Partner with internal stakeholders to support smooth payroll operations
Support testing activities by executing predefined test cases and documenting results
Effectively manage assigned tasks and meet established deadlines
WORK EXPERIENCE:
1 to 3+ years of experience in Ireland and ideally
UK payroll processing or related field
Basic understanding of Ireland and UK payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements
Experience with SAP HCM IPP or similar payroll systems preferred
Candidates with both Ireland and UK experience are preferred, both not essential as training will be given
Experience of working on payroll projects/transformation is preferred
Experience and knowledge of AI and its adoption is preferred
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field preferred or equivalent payroll experience, education, e.g. iPass or CIPP.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Strong customer service orientation with the ability to support employees and internal stakeholders
Effective communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
