THIS POSITION IS BASED OUT OF RESTON, VA AND MUST BE ON SITE 3 DAYS A WEEK
We are seeking a skilled Level 2 JIRA Administrator to manage and optimize our configurations that are used within the organization for Jira and Confluence. This role involves configuring projects in a way that makes cross-team reporting and planning consistent, easy, and relevant. This role will also support advanced user requirements and maintain data security requirements specific to our group. This role will model the changes our organization or teams desire in the test instance and create requests for the changes to be pushed to the production instance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with JIRA administration, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage JIRA projects, boards, workflows, schemes, permissions, and notifications.
- Configure custom fields, screens, and issue types to meet business needs.
- Provide Level 2 support for JIRA-related issues and requests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex configuration problems.
- Train and guide users on best practices.
- Implement automation rules using JIRA Automation.
- Governance & Security
- Ensure compliance with organizational standards and security policies.
- Manage user roles, groups, and permissions.
- Create and maintain dashboards, filters, reports, for stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in JIRA administration.
- Strong knowledge of JIRA Software and JIRA Service Management.
- Familiarity with Confluence administration.
- Experience with workflow customization and automation tools.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management best practices.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and scripting (Groovy preferred).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator or similar certification.
- Experience with enterprise-level JIRA environments.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with third-party tools.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices.
- Experience with Structure and Advanced Roadmap plugins.

SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 104500 - 177700(USD) USD. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
