Job Description

We help the world run better

At SAP, we enable you to bring out your best. Our company culture is focused on collaboration and a shared passion to help the world run better. How? We focus every day on building the foundation for tomorrow and creating a workplace that embraces differences, values flexibility, and is aligned to our purpose-driven and future-focused work. We offer a highly collaborative, caring team environment with a strong focus on learning and development, recognition for your individual contributions, and a variety of benefit options for you to choose from.

The role

We’re looking for a driven, curious mid-level Android Developer (3–5 years’ experience in Kotlin and Java) to strengthen our mobile team. You’ll build reliable, user-friendly Android apps that empower field-service technicians—from wind-turbine engineers to appliance specialists—to do their jobs efficiently, even in the most demanding environments.

Our culture values results, clean code, and collaborative energy. You’ll join an experienced, supportive crew that shares knowledge freely and never stops improving.

What you’ll do

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications using Kotlin (primary) and Java (legacy & interoperability).
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow developers to deliver high-quality features on schedule.
  • Write clean, testable, maintainable code leveraging modern Android architecture components (Jetpack, MVVM, Coroutines).
  • Optimize performance, handle offline scenarios, and ensure smooth UI/UX on a wide device range (phones, tablets, rugged devices).
  • Integrate APIs and local databases (SQLCipher).
  • Contribute to our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure) and automated testing (JUnit, Mockito).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, memory leaks, and platform-specific quirks.
  • Stay current with Android ecosystem changes (Compose, Material 3, Play Store policies) and share learnings with the team.

What you bring

  • 3–5 years of professional Android development experience.
  • Proficient in Kotlin and Java; solid grasp of core Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and Material guidelines.
  • Experience with modern architectures (MVVM/Clean), Coroutines etc
  • Comfortable with Git, pull-request workflows, and code reviews.
  • Familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs, JSON serialization (Kotlinx, Moshi, Gson), and common networking stacks (Retrofit, OkHttp).
  • Unit-, UI-, and instrumentation-testing mindset; knowledge of CI/CD tooling.
  • Clear communication, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for delivering real value to users.
  • Bonus points for cross-functional exposure to one or more of:
    • iOS (Swift/Objective-C)
    • WPF/.NET desktop applications
    • JavaScript/TypeScript (React, Node.js)
    • Backend microservices (Spring Boot, Ktor, or similar)

What we offer

  • Competitive salary and flexible work arrangements (remote days).
  • Supportive, experienced team with a knowledge-sharing culture and access to several learning platforms like Pluralsight, LinkedIn Learning, etc.
  • A meaningful product used offline & online every day by thousands of technicians worldwide.
  • The chance to ship features that truly matter—helping keep turbines spinning, machines running, and customers happy.

Ready to level-up your Android craft while exploring new tech frontiers? We’d love to meet you!
