We’re looking for a Technical Lead to lead one of our Redgate Monitor teams—someone who’s passionate about delivery, great at developing people, and comfortable working in a highly collaborative product environment.
As a Technical Lead, you'll lead a team of 4–5 engineers, including a Lead Software Engineer and Software Engineers at various levels. You'll work closely with a dedicated Product Manager and Product Designer who are part of your team leadership group.
You'll also be supported by a Group Engineering Manager (who oversees delivery, people, and processes across the Monitor group), an Architect (who provides technical direction at the product level), and a coaching function to help you navigate challenges.
This role sits at the intersection of people leadership, team leadership, and technical leadership. You'll spend meaningful time in code and in technical discussions, but your primary impact comes from how you support your team to do their best work —setting direction, removing obstacles, and helping engineers do their best work.
What you’ll do
As a Technical Lead, you’ll take accountability for your team’s delivery. You’ll help them estimate work, manage competing priorities, and stay focused on what really matters—removing blockers and guiding when to solve problems within the team and when to escalate.
You’ll stay close to customers and understand their needs, feeding insights back into the team. You’ll also build strong relationships across Sales, Marketing, and Support to ensure Redgate Monitor thrives in the wider market.
You’ll provide clear goals, promote agile and lean ways of working, and encourage continuous improvement. You’ll help turn big objectives into quick experiments that deliver incremental value.
You’ll also be a people leader. You’ll run regular 1:1s, support career development, handle performance challenges where needed, and adapt your leadership style to each individual.
What you’ll bring
You’ve been a software engineer and understand modern object‑oriented development. Our stack includes .NET/C#, React/TypeScript, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
You work effectively across disciplines—engineering, design, product—and you create an environment where people feel safe sharing ideas, raising concerns, and constructively challenging each other. You’re confident influencing senior stakeholders when needed.
Bonus points
Experience with monitoring, observability, or performance tooling
Familiarity with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
Experience with database or IT security products
