Job Description

Who is Oak National Academy? We’re here to support great teaching. We’re an independent public body. We work in partnership to improve pupil outcomes and close the disadvantage gap by supporting teachers to teach, and enabling pupils to access a high-quality curriculum. Created in April 2020 as a rapid response to the coronavirus outbreak, we brought together a group of partners committed to supporting schools’ efforts to keep children learning.

From the start of primary, all the way to key stage 4, we provide free access to thousands of teacher-made, fully-resourced lessons to adapt and use with pupils.

We are looking for a team of freelance Content Administrators with an eye for detail to work with Oak and support the effective production of digital education content. You will work remotely (between 20 and 36 hours per week from the end of October to the end of December 2024) and review and edit Oak curriculum resources against a guide.

If you have an interest in education, ideally with experience in publishing (although this is not essential) and would be interested in a freelance contract working with our friendly team, we would love to hear from you.

Successful applicants will be engaged on a self-employed 'sole trader' basis (no limited companies or agencies please). Training will be provided, but you will need to have:

  • A good standard of English

  • Ability to work independently and at pace

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

  • Organised and able to prioritise

  • Confidence/capability in using Oak's bespoke technical system

  • Access to a PC/laptop and stable/secure internet connection
