Job summary:

The Third-Party Risk Manager is responsible for ensuring that all third‑party and outsourcing arrangements comply with the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) SS2/21 Outsourcing and Third‑Party Risk Management expectations and operational resilience standards. The role safeguards the organisation against resilience, conduct, operational and supply‑chain risks by embedding robust risk assessment, due diligence, contracting, and monitoring processes across the supplier lifecycle.

The role will also provide leadership to one direct report, supporting their development, capability growth, and delivery of third-party risk management activities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead materiality and risk assessments for all third parties in line with PRA SS2/21, with regular reassessments.
  • Ensure robust due diligence across key risks (cyber, resilience, access, sub-outsourcing, supply chain).
  • Maintain compliant contracts, accurate supplier inventory, and support SM&CR obligations.
  • Manage regulatory notifications, reporting, and ongoing supplier performance monitoring (SLAs, KPIs, incidents).
  • Oversee operational resilience, including business continuity, testing, exit strategies, and impact tolerances.
  • Monitor supply chain and technology dependencies, including emerging risks.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Risk, Cyber, and Resilience teams to align activities and support testing.
  • Apply proportional, risk-based controls across supplier tiers.
  • Lead and develop one direct report while promoting a strong risk-focused culture.

What we’re looking for

  • Strong expertise in third-party risk, outsourcing governance, and PRA-aligned compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of operational resilience, cyber/ICT risk, and business continuity.
  • Experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
  • Proven delivery of SS2/21 frameworks (materiality, due diligence, resilience oversight).
  • Understanding of impact tolerances, service mapping, and SM&CR accountability.
  • Ability to interpret regulations and embed controls into processes.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Skilled in assessing supplier risk, resilience gaps, and making risk-based recommendations.
  • Effective at communicating insights to senior leadership and working cross-functionally.
  • Knowledge of SS2/21, SS1/21, EBA guidelines, and related frameworks.
