Overview

Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + up to 10% bonus per annum. In addition, up to £7,500 Regional Allowance depending on location.

Working Location: Milton Keynes, Hybrid

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Senior PMO Analyst to join our Change Delivery Services function at NHBC, reporting into the PMO Manager. In this critical role, you will be at the heart of ensuring the effective control and successful delivery of projects across the organisation. You will provide expert support across project, programme, and portfolio management services, with a focus on governance and control, financial and resource management, planning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll be doing

As the Senior PMO Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing PMO standards, tools, and templates, ensuring consistency and alignment across the portfolio of change. You will also analyse project performance and compliance, identifying gaps and driving solutions to improve outcomes.

  • Manage project, programme, and portfolio budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and variance analysis.
  • Design and deliver high-quality MI dashboards and reports to monitor controls and status..
  • Analyse project performance data, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and threats.
  • Liaising with Project Managers and the Programme Director., producing high quality papers for programme and associated governance fora.
  • Develop strategies for effective issue resolution, escalating critical items to governance bodies as required.
  • Ensure that risks and issues are consistently documented, tracked, and reviewed within project governance structures.
  • Lead the establishment and evolution of governance structures, including steering committees, boards, and governance fora.
  • Ensure governance processes are adaptable to the maturity level and complexity of projects and programmes.
  • Align governance frameworks with organisational strategic goals.
  • Evaluate and implement PMO tools (e.g., PPM software, scheduling tools) to streamline processes.
  • Monitor portfolio performance against strategic KPIs, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
  • Hybrid working, time to time working on site will be required.

The ideal candidate will have

  • Advanced understanding of project, programme, and portfolio management frameworks, including PRINCE2, MSP, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, including accurate forecasting, tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to influence and build consensus at all organisational levels.
  • Strong verbal, written and technical (Excel and PowerPoint) communication skills essential.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Proficiency in project planning tools (e.g., MS Project) and data analysis platforms (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
  • Proven experience in a senior PMO role, with a track record of supporting large, complex technology portfolios.

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as PRINCE2, P3O, PMP, MSP, Prosci or APM PMQ.
