About the role

This is a 12-month fixed term opportunity to support the development and delivery of NFU Mutual’s responsible business strategy and plan. Working within the responsible business team, your work will cover priorities relating to customers, employees, rural communities, environmental sustainability and responsible business practices.

You’ll play a leading role in coordinating our responsible business reporting activity, bringing together information, evidence and insight from across the business. You’ll help turn our commitments and performance into clear, credible reporting and communications for a wide range of audiences.

Working closely with subject matter experts, data owners and external partners, you’ll coordinate the annual responsible business reporting process, gather and review evidence, interpret data and research, and contribute to target setting and performance monitoring. You’ll also support the Responsible Business Steering Group by coordinating updates from across the business, preparing materials and following up actions.

Alongside this you’ll support the planning and delivery of NFU Mutual’s annual responsible business campaign, developing accessible messages and content, measuring communications impact, maintaining stakeholder relationships and helping to bring responsible business activity to life for internal and external audiences.

This is a unique opportunity to combine corporate reporting, stakeholder engagement and integrated communications within an established responsible business function.

This is a varied role requiring strong organisation, sound judgement and the confidence to ask constructive questions. You’ll help ensure that responsible business activity is accurate, consistent and supported by appropriate evidence.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford Upon Avon. However, we understand how important a positive work life balance is, so to help you give your best, we offer great facilities when you want to be in an office environment and support to work up to 80% of your hours from home.

About you

You’re an accountable and proactive communicator who builds trusted relationships and works collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders. You combine influence and initiative with close attention to detail, presenting complex information clearly in writing and in conversation. Comfortable managing interdependent activity and working in a fast-paced environment, you take ownership of delivery and maintain accuracy while balancing campaigns, reporting and project activity.

• Experience producing corporate, sustainability, impact or other evidence-led reporting


• Strong written communication skills, with ability to translate complex information for different audiences


• Experience planning and delivering integrated campaigns, including message development, content creation and performance measurement


• Experience gathering, reviewing and interpreting data and supporting evidence


• Strong influencing skills, including securing buy-in, coordinating contributions and driving outcomes across a wide range of stakeholders


• Project management experience, including coordinating activity across internal and external stakeholders


• An understanding of responsible business/sustainability/ESG or relevant experience from an adjacent area
