Job Description
Job Title
- Lead and shape NFU Mutual’s Cloud Support and DevOps capability, driving operational excellence and transformation
- Play a key role in our cloud journey, including the establishment of a Cloud Centre of Excellence
- Hybrid role with 80% homeworking and 20% based in Stratford‑upon‑Avon
About the role
As our Cloud Support & Delivery Manager, you’ll lead, manage and continually improve our cloud products and services, ensuring they operate securely, reliably and in line with agreed service levels. You’ll provide leadership to a highly skilled Cloud DevOps and Support team, working closely with internal technology teams and external partners to deliver both business‑as‑usual operations and complex change initiatives.
This role has a strong transformation focus. You’ll help optimise our cloud infrastructure, support migration and transformation activities, and play a central role in shaping how cloud services are delivered across NFU Mutual. A key priority will be contributing to the creation of a Cloud Centre of Excellence, embedding best practice and ensuring our cloud services are fit for the future.
You’ll also oversee third‑party and supplier performance, ensuring contracts are effectively managed, work is not duplicated, and services deliver value for money. Acting as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, you’ll influence cloud strategy, roadmaps and standards while championing continual improvement and modern ways of working.
About you
You’ll be an experienced cloud leader, likely with a background as an engineer, who combines strong technical credibility with a collaborative and supportive management style. You’re comfortable leading teams through change, setting clear direction, and creating an environment where people are empowered to perform at their best.
You’ll bring strong experience in cloud technologies (Azure preferred, AWS also considered), along with a solid understanding of service management, DevOps practices and operational excellence. You’re confident working with offshore teams and third‑party suppliers and can balance strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership when needed.
You will also have (essential)
- Demonstrable experience leading DevOps or agile teams in cloud and hybrid environments
- Strong service management experience, delivering high‑quality operational support and incident resolution
- Experience managing third‑party suppliers and complex service contracts
- Proven ability to plan, estimate and manage cloud resources and workloads
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at senior level
- Knowledge of DevOps tooling, cloud operations and modern infrastructure practices
- Azure and Office 365 experience
- ITIL Foundations and a DevOps qualification, or equivalent experience
- Financial services experience (preferred)
