Job Description

We’re on a mission to provide equitable access to economic opportunity, for everyone.

We close critical skill gaps in the workforce through a new kind of apprenticeship that combines work and learning. We begin by recognizing high-potential individuals both inside and outside of a company's current workforce and then we create applied, guided and equitable learning programs, with measurable impact. Because we believe the world needs a better way to match its potential.

We work with over 1,500 leading companies including the likes of Microsoft, Citi and Just Eat to help solve their business-critical problems, and we’ve trained over 16,000 professional apprentices in the tech and data skills of the future. This is made possible by our global team who are driven to achieve a mission that matters, together.

Join Multiverse and help us set a new course for work.

The Opportunity

We need a bar-setting Senior Product Manager or Principal to own and solve our most complex technical product problems.

Our engineering, data, design and product team is 150 strong and growing fast. We’re split into 5 “Pillars”: Foundations, Competency, User, Customer, Enabler. In each area we have Product Managers plotting a bold course to the next version of Multiverse while delivering value continuously.

This job opportunity is specifically within our Foundations Pillar. In Foundations, we build the stuff that supports everyone else in Tech to deliver awesome stuff to our customers and users. Our scope includes Platform Engineering (full-stack user facing experiences like our global navigation and notifications, core services shared by every squad in Multiverse like authentication and log in), Data Engineering (data pipelines, data architecture) and Internal Developer Platform (DevOps, developer tooling, measuring developer satisfaction). As well as the creation of some internal products for the wider business beyond tech.

This Senior Product Manager will be initially focused on the Platform Engineering part of this scope and must have experience creating products, services or SDKs where the end users are developers / engineers. No two days at Multiverse are the same, so we need someone who is comfortable with the unknown unknowns. On top of that, we want someone who will be passionate about building infrastructure, shared services and toolkits that can unlock and empower everyone across Multiverse tech.

You will be primarily embedded in two squads, supporting their day to day prioritisation, definition of work, and leading product / technical discovery. You will work very closely with the Product Director for the Foundations Pillar to ensure our roadmap supports the priorities of the whole Tech Org and the experiences/services we are building, serve the needs of all our potential adopters in tech.

Once here, you will:

  • Create product strategy and set a vision from your understanding of our key business objectives

  • Translate strategy in to epics and user stories with a talented squad of DevOps engineers, data engineers, software engineers and designers

  • Build your own product roadmap whilst maintaining and prioritising the product backlog

  • Track releases using clearly defined success metrics

  • Understand the needs and wants of our users across the Tech Org and Multiverse more broadly, in order to create high quality experiences that deliver real business value

  • Shape the way our Foundations Pillar works to set us up for success as we enter a crucial growth phase

  • Mentor and coach team members in great product practice

About you:

  • You have 4+ years’ of experience as a Product Manager of cross-functional teams that deliver excellent software

  • You have experience specifically releasing products, services or SDKs where the end users are developers / engineers

  • You care about the outcome - not just the output, utilising data and creating metrics to quantify success

  • You’re fluent in Agile methodologies and have worked with teams who utilise Scrum or Kanban frameworks

  • You’ve got exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience in bringing tech partners and business partners with you to develop class-leading products
