As a Senior People Advisor, you'll play a key role in shaping this culture and making a real difference in the employee experience.

About the Role

As a Senior People Advisor, you will be a trusted advisor and partner to our Seller Services and Dealer Services teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Employee Relations:
    • Providing expert advice and guidance to managers on a wide range of employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary action, grievance handling, absence management, and conflict resolution.
    • Conducting thorough and impartial investigations into employee complaints and concerns.
    • Coaching managers on best practices in employee relations.
    • Developing and delivering training programs on relevant people topics.
    • Acting as the point of contact for some internal training programmes, such as our Manager Acceleration Programme.
    • Acting as the point of contact for some of our internal benefits, such as our workplace nursery scheme.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Proactively identifying areas for improvement within the Seller and Dealer Services teams.
    • Recommending changes to policies and procedures.
    • Developing targeted training programs.
    • Implementing initiatives to improve employee engagement and well-being.
    • Preparing reports and recommendations for the Head of People and other stakeholders.
    • Supporting talent nurturing by working with managers to ensure updated job descriptions.
  • HRIS System and Data Experience:
    • Maintaining accurate employee data in BambooHR.
    • Analysing data to identify trends and insights related to employee absence, performance, and turnover.
    • Utilising BambooHR to manage and streamline key people processes, such as onboarding, performance management, and off-boarding.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Senior HR Advisor or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably BambooHR.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • CIPD qualification (desirable).

Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of the role and Motorway, while allowing us to assess your skills and experience. It typically involves the following stages:

  • Initial Screening Call (30 minutes): A conversation with a member of our Talent Acquisition team to discuss your background and experience.
  • Hiring Manager Interview: A more in-depth discussion with the Head of People to explore your relevant experience and understand your approach to people management.
  • People Partner Interview: An opportunity to meet with the Senior People Partner for Seller and Dealer Services to discuss team dynamics and specific challenges.
  • Values Interview: A conversation with members of the wider team to assess your alignment with Motorway's values. (Jen)
