How you will contribute
In this role you will be part of a high-performing Corporate and Government Affairs (CGA) team in the Nordics, managing public & government affairs and internal and external communications activities in Sweden and Finland.
You will be a business adviser who promotes and protects Mondelēz International's reputation in your markets through corporate communications, media relations and issues management; development and execution of advocacy plans to represent Mondelēz International's interests with public and government officials and supports employee engagement through impactful internal communications.
You manage and liaise with key external stakeholders and coordinate communications with a wide range of internal and external parties.
Mondelēz International has a long history in chocolate in the Nordics, from Freia, which was founded in Oslo in 1889, to Marabou, which was launched in Sweden in 1916. Marabou has been produced in Sweden for over a hundred years and has been manufactured at the factory in Upplands Väsby since 1976. Today, Mondelēz Nordics is home to some of the most beloved brands in the region, including Freia, Marabou, Daim, Aladdin, Paradis, O'boy, Philadelphia, Oreo, Tuc, and Toblerone.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, preferably through experience in reputation building, issues management and government affairs in Sweden.

Comfortable navigating ambiguity and possessing change agility.
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail.
Strong ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders, including confident communication with senior leaders across the business.

What will you do?
Public & Government Affairs
You will collaborate with the CGA Nordics Lead, driving proactive government affairs in Sweden and Finland, based on strong understanding of the market(s). You will work closely with internal experts to understand the impact of policy on our business and assist with devising proactive and reactive responses.
Manage business-critical, emerging issues by mapping and assessing risks and opportunities as well as advocating on behalf of the company. You will ensure that all activities are delivered within budget.
Establish and maintain relationships with key government departments, political advisors, parliamentarians, and other stakeholders to ensure they are aware of Mondelēz International's position, work, and policy concerns. You will also ensure they have a good understanding of our business and the likely impact on it of any policy or legislative proposals.
Work closely with the broader Nordics CGA team and the wider European Public Affairs team to ensure seamless engagement on major, cross-market industry issues.
Draft briefing papers, submissions, letters, and other texts for internal and external audiences to initiate and inform debate on key public policy issues.
Represent Mondelēz International at external meetings with trade associations and policy makers.
External Communications
You will collaborate with the CGA Nordics Lead, local leadership teams and marketing teams to build and implement proactive communication plans that effectively enhance and safeguard Mondelēz International's reputation. Develop clear objectives, strategies, key messages, and target media to ensure the success of the plans.
Identify opportunities for brand activities to support corporate reputation building and provide guidance on risk management.
Generate engaging content across various channels, that highlights Mondelēz International's key business areas.
Provide communications support and input to senior management and colleagues.
Foster positive relationships with Tier 1 media through direct engagement.
Facilitate press contact programs for Managing Directors to maintain Mondelēz International's relationships with key journalists and publications. Support the Nordic CGA Lead in providing media training to Swedish and Finnish Leadership Teams.
Run a highly efficient press office for Sweden and Finland, including handling media calls, monitoring media coverage for the cluster, and acting as a spokesperson for the company as required.
Part of the Special Situations Team, available out-of-hours in case of crisis or incidents.
Internal Communications
You will be responsible for several key areas to increase employee engagement and ensure effective communication throughout the organization.
Support colleague engagement in partnership with HR; develop and implement clear internal communications plans and activities in support of increasing employee engagement in Sweden and Finland.
Drive impactful content creation that is relevant for the markets through collaboration with local teams.
Support the Managing Director and Leadership Team on key internal communications moments, including for local Townhalls.
Support and coordinate centrally generated campaigns.
Sustainability
Policy and Government Affairs – support the delivery of Mondelēz International's sustainability agenda across Sweden and Finland, working closely with Nordic Sustainability Manager.
Work closely with Nordic Sustainability Manager on internal and external communications connected to key sustainability topics and efforts.
More about this role
What extra ingredients you will bring:
You have a background in corporate affairs, government affairs, or communications – ideally within an FMCG or similarly fast-paced environment
You are a confident communicator who can engage credibly with senior stakeholders, media, and external partners – including in high-pressure or sensitive situations
You understand the policy and regulatory landscape and can translate it into practical business advice
You are comfortable acting as a company spokesperson and managing media and crisis situations with composure
You are autonomous, proactive, and at ease working across markets and functions in a matrix organisation
You have strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for crafting clear, compelling messages
Languages: Fluency in Swedish and English is required. Finnish is a plus.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
