Microsoft Advertising (MSA) empowers advertisers of all sizes around the world to reach their maximum potential through digital advertising solutions on the Microsoft Advertising platform. We are seeking a top performing Account Executive - Display & Video with digital advertising experience who can drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction by developing and cultivating client relationships and delivering tailored solutions aligning to the client’s advertising needs.
This role will focus on the Small and Medium-sized business segment (SMB). Our Microsoft Advertising SMB group empowers every SMB client on the planet to achieve more. This is a new role in a new market, and you will help us build the evolution of our advertising product suite for the SMB segment with new display/video/native offerings. The individual in this role will bring advertising knowledge, display/native sales experience, client obsession, a passion for innovation, best practice sharing, and a proven track record for delivering exceptional results at scale. We are looking for exceptional, entrepreneurial person with deep knowledge and deep contacts within the market to add to expertise of a global team.

We are seeking a top performing Account Executive with display and video sales experience to sell and focus on our native offering – the Microsoft Audience Network. Working with a scaled book comprised of small, medium, and growth advertisers with varying levels of digital savviness and acumen strongly preferred. We are looking for an individual who can drive revenue and increase customer satisfaction by developing and cultivating strategic client relationships and delivering customized solutions from ideation to execution aligning to the client’s advertising needs.

The Account Executive, Display & Video will help us build the evolution of our advertising product suite by evangelizing our display/video/native offerings to existing customers. Through scaled account planning, flawless client management, and data-driven strategizing, this role will help MSA execute our aggressive Audience Ads growth ambitions. The individual in this role will bring advertising knowledge, display/native/video sales experience, agency selling expertise, scaled book and account management, client obsession, thrive in ambiguity, have a passion for innovation and best-practice sharing, and a proven track record for delivering exceptional results. They must enjoy working with a global team and be open to the flexibility that doing so will require.

Responsibilities

  • Build intentional relationships that grow the Microsoft Audience Network (MSAN) display/native/video advertising solutions through understanding of client organizational design and buying & billing needs.
  • Closely partner with the advertising account team and sales leads throughout the sales process, helping from pitch to client enablement.
  • Leverage client knowledge, advocacy and relationship skills to establish best-in-class engagement standards to be emulated by the team; be regarded by internal and external clients as trusted partner and wield deep influence to hold the client accountable to achieving goals.
  • Orchestrate across Engineering, Product Marketing, other internal sales teams, and Partner-focused teams to develop overall strategy and action on client and account team feedback.
  • Respond to client requests and escalations; then take steps to improve business processes with business owners.
  • Utilize industry and product knowledge to influence our training programs for entire organization. Proactively enable others’ success, present within a 1:Many learning capacity, and work to exponentially increase the knowledge of the broader team- including leadership.
  • Collaborate across regions and sales teams to influence processes and client strategies by sharing learnings and innovative techniques.
  • Guide and inspire a high-performing virtual account team – internally and with our vendors. Ensure all account team members are accountable and proactive in executing client goals.
  • Understand how the client’s needs can be met with One Microsoft and Industry solutions; develop expert knowledge of clients' positions within their industry/channel and key drivers.
  • Develop cross-Microsoft relationships in support of bringing the best of Microsoft to our clients.
  • Create deep connections within our communities, focus on increasing representation, retaining and growing our current team members, while fostering awareness and growth through an inclusive environment.
  • Thought leader in building new processes and ways to scale our display and video solutions
  • Set ambitious goals and push for results with clarity and precision.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in how they work on a global team members across various continents and time zones.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, search advertising, or Search Engine Marketing Sales
    • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration in Sales, Marketing, or related field AND experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, search advertising, or Search Engine Marketing Sales
    • OR experience in Sales, Advertising, or Marketing with a focus on online media, search advertising, or Search Engine Marketing Sales.
  • Experience in online media or Search Engine Marketing Sales and Service experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital media across native, display, video and search advertising / Bing Ads; including some combination of Sales, Operations, Service and/or Sales Excellence.
    Experience influencing and driving conversations with clients across all levels.
    Language fluency both in English and German.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success moving from ‘start up’ to ‘scaled business’ is critical and the ability to move easily and constantly across functions (Sales, Ops, Strategy, Marketplace), partner sets (Business Development, Finance, Engineering) and client conversations (both c-level and more tactical).
  • Deep competitive knowledge of the players and partners across the digital advertising solution ecosystem that can elevate client success and help create solutions that result in positive revenue impact for the business.
  • Advanced professional working proficiency in English; native proficiency.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills to deliver client-focused solutions.
  • Flexibility to maintain focus through change and thrive amid ambiguity.
  • Proven track record of exceptional performance, high productivity, meeting deadlines, and exceeding sales quota for a scaled book of business.
  • Infectious sense of enthusiasm, fun, and imagination associated with a group committed to developing the best client experiences in the world.
