Job Summary:

The NA Enterprise VL Sr. Director is responsible for multi-year pipeline development and execution of ~$1.5-$2 billion in Value Leadership. This role requires a strategic leader driving transformative initiatives and oversight to deliver successful performance in line with NA business strategies. Driving integrated value creation through cross functional collaboration with NALT+ peers, mindset and behavior shifts, global and regional senior stakeholder engagement, all underpinned by a strategic and innovative mindset.

This high-profile role will lead E2E Value Leadership performance for NA, acting as a bridge between business strategy and category/regional execution, manage accountability, tracking and reporting, and capability building. Ensures the right strategies are in place, performance is on track and risks and trade-offs are managed effectively.

The Sr. Director will orchestrate cross-functional teams across Research & Development (R&D), Commercial, Supply, Marketing, Finance, and MGS Indirects to ensure technical feasibility and successful implementation of Value Leadership projects over a three-five year timeline. They will oversee project portfolios and collaborate with value leadership cross-functional core team, ensuring alignment and accountability to transformational and business as usual objectives and making critical decisions on prioritization and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Serve as the visionary leader to drive enterprise value leadership projects and pipelines aligning the initiatives with the strategic objectives of the Mars Snacking North America portfolio to drive substantial business impact.

  • Complex Stakeholder Management: Navigate and manage relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders, including the North American Leadership Team (NALT), GTLT, MWCLT, MGS, CPO. This role will interact heavily with NALT+ and Global category teams to develop VL E2E strategy and manage performance.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Leads and inspires cross-functional teams in R&D, Commercial, Supply, and Supply Chain to ensure project feasibility, timelines, quality of initiatives.

  • Project Oversight: Develop with the PMOs, implement, and oversee a comprehensive project plan, ensuring timely delivery of key milestones and objectives across a multi-year timeline. Align outcomes/targets against business strategies and develop multi-yr pipeline creation and implement execution.

  • Implementation Accountability: Direct the development and deployment of multiple implementation projects to deliver our 3–5-year ambition of 1.5-2 billion in VL. The role has clear responsibilities for oversight, resource management, financial stewardship, and ensuring adherence to processes, including driving continuous improvement.

  • Risk and Change Management: Proactively identify potential risks and implement effective mitigation strategies while managing change across complex organizational structures.

  • Continuous Improvement: Champion initiatives that drive innovation, enhance project outcomes, and deliver value across the Mars Snacking portfolio.

  • Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress and impact, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize results. Including Reporting and Tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum requirement of bachelor’s degree in Procurement, R&D, Supply Chain/Logistics/Materials Management or Finance and/or the equivalent combination of education and work experience. MBA or other Master’s degree preferred.

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within the food or consumer goods industry, with a proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects and diverse stakeholder groups. 15+ years of experience in food or consumer goods industry.

  • Skills: Exceptional strategic thinking, communication, influencing, and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organizational levels. Market awareness, Innovative Thinking, Insights Interpretation, Training & Capability Building, Strategic Portfolio Mgt, Value Leadership experience

  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of business acumen, supply chain processes, and technical feasibility assessments. Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically and analytically, driving E2E value perspectives that align with business objectives.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.
