Salary: £87,000 - £109,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits

The Sr Strategic Sourcing Manager Contingent Workforce is responsible for the development & execution of Category Management strategies, consulting for all Mars Segments globally, and reports to the Sr. Director Commercial – General Services. This role will develop an enterprise wide strategy of a 3 year roadmap covering a spend of about $300M with a documented execution plan aligned to the business strategies & key stakeholders and regional Procurement teams.

As a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager at Mars, you will partner to drive implementation of sub-category buying strategies and co-pilot optimization of resources. This role manages global initiatives by leveraging supplier relationships, while also driving standardization and automation. Ownership of sub-category spend on a global basis will be key, as will heavy x-functional collaboration and close partnership with key stakeholders.

This position will be responsible for optimizing investments in terms of cost, quality, risk per the Mars commercial manual and its processes as well as following MGS Commercial governance. This person will be responsible for ensuring supplier performance and acts as the first point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.

  • Proven commercial or purchasing experience, ideally in Contingent Workforce at Global level, including implementation of MSP/VMS and Services Procurement (SOW)

  • A passion for driving value for our business by leveraging various sourcing channels

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • BEST PRACTICE Develop Category insights, benchmark and import best practices and ensure knowledge management within the Regional Sourcing Teams across regions

  • STRATEGY Develops deep understanding of our business needs, external benchmarks and category industry and people capabilities, to create and execute Category sourcing strategies with an End-to-End approach, focusing on a time horizon of 3-5y, driving innovation and challenge to bring competitive advantage to the business

  • PARTERING Partner with the key Global & Regional stakeholders including to ensure alignment with the business requirements as well as strategy and execution plan

  • FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION Contributes with value creation across the Consulting spend, including P&L cost reduction, Cash from Payment Terms

  • PROJECT AND CHANGE MANAGEMENT Ensures robust project and change management processes, right governance and escalation procedures

  • TEAM Active member of the Global General Services team and establishes and maintains working relationship with the Regional Category Operations Buying Managers and Category Sourcing Managers

  • NEGOTIATION & CONTRACTING Lead the Global and critical supplier financial and contractual negotiation, but also relationship & Performance management. Works with the regions to ensure successful Implementation of regional contracts and related Service Level Agreements for the respective

  • SUPPLIER PERFORMANCE RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (SPRM) Develops and maintains sustainable relationships with Critical suppliers. Tracks, monitors and drives key supplier performance indicators across cost, service and quality and puts corrective actions in place for continuous improvement

  • CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY Implements and complies with standard processes and tools to ensure responsible, continuous and sustainable sourcing in line with commercial policies, systems and controls

  • TOOLS Applies a wide range of sourcing tools (e.g. negotiation, e-procurement, strategic collaboration, etc.) to define the best trading strategic approach for use when allocating business to suppliers, appropriate to the strategic choice​
