The Portfolio Management Director reports into the Senior Director, One MGS Global Portfolio. The Portfolio Management Director will be responsible for defining and continuously tracking the portfolio of programs and projects that One MGS delivers on behalf of Segments, Mars Corporate and MGS. This includes maintaining an effective governance process to manage incoming demand, prioritizing projects against a prioritization framework, ensuring projects are adequately resourced and funded so that the resulting portfolio is feasible.

What are we looking for?

  • In depth experience of Portfolio Management.
  • Previous experience within a global services function (preferred).
  • Experience in leading a high performing teams in a matrixed global environment as well as developing individual talent.
  • Comfort working across multiple, complex portfolios simultaneously, often with competing demands.
  • Adept at managing stakeholders at various senior levels in the organization through strong communication, influencing and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to resolve escalated issues and problems quickly and independently with both internal and external stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
  • P30 or Management of Portfolio certification or equivalent required.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Partner with and effectively manage our customers and stakeholders from the Segments, Mars Corporate and MGS. Act as the single point of contact for all incoming project requests. Ensure an understanding of the project details, including benefits, cost, timings, and resource requirements -- and as appropriate be willing to push back and say “no” based on an assessment of anticipated project benefits (or lack thereof), conflicting priorities, resource limitations, etc.
  • Design, implement, support facilitation of and continuously improve the One MGS Portfolio Design Boards including assessing new demand, financial management and resource management as required.
  • Build a pipeline of potential projects with our customers to enable forward planning and prioritisation decisions to be made.
  • Own the single source of truth of all approved programmes and projects, new demand and the backlog for the One MGS portfolio to be stored in the PPM tool.
  • Provide oversight and tracking of all MGS project resources and vacancies; driving recruitment, onboarding and resource reporting.
  • Own portfolio financial management; driving periodic reporting, working collaboratively with project managers and the Finance service line.
  • Build an internal strategy and planning capability including supporting associate development and line management responsibilities.
