Job Overview:

As the IT Infrastructure & Broadcast Operations Technical Lead you will implement, maintain, and operate the technology backbone that powers executive broadcasts and high-profile events at our corporate headquarters and across global locations. This role is primarily focused on IT and AV infrastructure, cloud integration architecture and operations, resilient multi-site/cloud network connectivity, and information security—ensuring our broadcast production technologies are resilient, scalable, and secure. You will lead the design and lifecycle management of hybrid AV/IT systems, drive continuous improvement through automation, operational excellence and technology optimization to deliver seamless, high-impact experiences for senior leadership. While this role is focused on broadcast and special event related technologies, strong and demonstratable IT experience in the outlined areas is critical to the core mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute the design, deployment, proactive maintenance, and lifecycle management of on-premise and cloud-based broadcast AV/IT infrastructure, including firmware/OS patching, application updates, configuration management, redundancy, high availability strategies, facility cabling, and equipment refresh cycles.

  • Configure, monitor, and support hybrid enterprise broadcast AV networks across multiple global locations and cloud environments.

  • Align infrastructure roadmap across on-premise sites and cloud with a focus on remote production workflows ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.

  • Implement automation and infrastructure/configuration-as-code practices for repeatable deployments, configuration baselining, version control, and change governance.

  • Partner with Information Security to ensure technical solutions comply with policy and governance requirements, including security monitoring/detection, network segmentation, credential governance, access controls, patch/vulnerability management, and secure network connectivity.

  • Manage OPEX/CAPEX planning and budget execution for broadcast and IT operations; develop business cases for resilience, modernization, and automation initiatives.

  • Track utilization and optimize spend across cloud resources, licensing, support agreements, and hardware lifecycles.

  • Develop and maintain IT Service Management (ITSM)-aligned practices tailored to real-time broadcast and special event operations; collaborate with internal and external IT support teams to enable operational success.

  • Embed continuous improvement loops focusing on root cause eradication, automation efficiencies, and technical debt reduction.

  • Provide strong networking expertise including multicast, QoS, VLAN design and segmentation, routing, firewall policies, fiber optics, WAN (bonded links/cellular), and SD-WAN technologies.

  • Oversee media transport and streaming protocols such as SRT, Zixi, HLS, DASH, RTMP, and WebRTC.

  • Manage cloud and virtualization platforms including Azure services, infrastructure hosting, containerization, and hybrid cloud to on-premise integration.

  • Administer systems fundamentals including Windows, Mac, and Linux environments, identity integration (Active Directory/SSO), and foundational database management.

  • Operationalize technical solutions for live corporate broadcasts and special production events (on-site, remote, hybrid), including live monitoring, audio/video backhaul, routing, switching, presenter contribution, recording, streaming, and redundancy/failover components.

  • Act as lead technical authority during broadcasts and events to proactively monitor end-to-end signal flow; execute failover options as necessary. Provide clear situational communication during live incidents, tailoring technical translation for executive and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Define and execute technical readiness standards, checklists, and failover procedures for all live productions to ensure technical resiliency. Maintain, test, and continuously refine disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.

  • Support equipment installation and maintenance tasks such as rack equipment installation/removal and cabling as needed.

  • Demonstrate high judgment under pressure with calm decision-making in live broadcast or major incident scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Broadcast Technology, or equivalent industry experience.

  • Relevant technical certifications such as AWS/Azure, ITIL, Dante, SMPTE, NDI, CTS, Security+/CISSP, Network+, or similar.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, or large-scale live event technical operations.

  • Progressive responsibility spanning broadcast technologies, cloud integration, and live event escalation support, including signal chain engineering for baseband and IP audio/video workflows.

  • Direct involvement in designing, commissioning, and scaling broadcast infrastructure including facility builds, control room and studio design, cloud and remote production enablement.

  • Experience with remote/REMI production architectures, virtual production, and cloud-based switching environments.

  • Strong proficiency in audio-visual technologies used in corporate meeting spaces, including hybrid meeting scenarios and ad hoc event-based deployments.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 productivity platform (Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, CoPilot).

  • Experience managing IT Security in mixed media/AV IT environments.

  • Knowledge and experience in IT Service Management methodologies (e.g., ITIL), including incident lifecycle management (detection, triage, impact assessment, communication, root cause eradication).

  • Organizationally savvy with the ability to leverage global networks to mobilize resources and deliver complex initiatives.

  • Design & Documentation: Infrastructure diagrams, structured runbooks, signal flow diagrams, configuration baselines
  • Networking: Multicast, QoS, VLAN design/segmentation, routing, firewall policies, fiber, WAN (bonded links/cellular), SD-WAN
  • Media Transport & Streaming: SRT, Zixi, HLS, DASH, RTMP, WebRTC
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Azure services, infrastructure hosting, containerization, hybrid cloud to on-premise integration
  • Systems Fundamentals: Windows/Mac/Linux administration, identity integration (AD/SSO), foundational database management
